Why is my card's capacity lower than 128GB?

In the world of hard disk and SD makers, 1 KB = 1000 bytes (not 1024). So a 128GB card is 128,000,000,000 bytes. The computer measures 1 KB = 1024 bytes. So when the card is inserted into the slot, the computer will show the size as: 118 GB.

What is the difference between U1 and U3 SD cards?

What does class 10 mean on an SD card?

A few weeks back I lost the Micro SD card for my dashcam in my car's air vent. I know dumb move. So obviously I need to replace it, so I come to Amazon because at the time we were still in lockdown and stores couldn't sell me SD cards as they are not considered an essential Item. SO I bought these Kexin two-pack class 10 micro SD cards for use in my cards Dashcam.

That was a mistake. Twice now I've removed the cards from my camera to review footage and delete (my camera does not have loop recording, I covered this in my earlier review of it), so every once in a while I have to manually replace the card delete the footage myself and reinsert another card into the camera. My Hipstreet SD card works fine, My Sandisk SD card (the one that fell into the vent) worked just fine, but not these Kexin cards. Once I had to review footage cause someone cut me off, only to put the card into my computer to find it couldn't access anything on the card, no data everything was gone. The space on the card was all taken up but I couldn't access any of the files. Today once again I had to review footage only to find ALL MY DATA CORRUPTED!!!!!!!!!! And once again unable to access anything on the card.

What if I had gotten into a car accident? What if someone was trying to scam me and the information to save me was caught on the dashcam? What if my camera pickup up something that could have helped the police or something? With these cards in my camera, you'd be screwed. Heck, they've already screwed me twice. I don't recommend these at all, for SD cards don't cheap out and just buy a name brand. I'm very annoyed, and I wish I could get my money back.

And they arent even 32gbs, they are only like 29.2.
