  • It can remain attached to the camera at all times and opens and closes by rotating the outer ring. Warm Tips: please clean the lens cap in time after you use in the beach or salt water.

great lens protector, closes when you rotate it, but i wish it a fitter adapter ring on top of it, and maybe made from light aluminum material, so you could mount Polaroid filters ND FILTERS. But i don't like that Olympus don't make this a standard thing with the camera and other similar stuff, they like to exploit you. They sell the light ring for close ups, its useless for most things, unless you are putting flat objects like coins n bills right next to it to take photos, anything over 1 cm is useless. the scree of the camera scratches very fast in the pocket, i wish they came with a plastic screen protector. in winter this camera is not good most of the time even when warm, it malfunctions, every shot you take it makes 50 of the same photo. but it makes amazing macros in summer. i can shoot 550 shots on a single charge with no flash.

DO NOT BUY this lens cap. I bought it for a one-of-a-kind fishing trip. I ignored a lot if the poor product reviews & bought it anyway due to the higher cost of the Olympus lens cap. This thing was a total piece of junk & a total frustrator on my trip. It attached well to the camera, but only opened & closed a few times when tested prior to my trip. When I was on my trip & actually needed it to work, it would not open to take shots. I had to remove it from the camera body to take pics & then put it back on for protection. Totally useless. Do not make the same mistake as me… DO NOT BUY!!!

Worked great when closed to protest the TG-7 lens but it would get caught every so often and the cover would close. Most likely sand, tapped it and put it in water and it would free up and work again. Hopefully they can design this out at some port so sand can’t get it in. But still much better than nothing to protect the TG-7

I use it on a TG 6, and it's been awesome for ensuring that my lens is dry, clean, safe and ready to shoot when I am.
It can be a bit stiff to turn with gloves or cold fingers, but having had cameras in the past get something on the lens that's never really come back to normal, I'm 100% into this thing!
(my last sport cam got a tiny bit of surfboard wax on the lens, and I tried everything but never got it to shed water properly again)
