The extension hook for the grille works best when the curved portion is set downward. Also, mount on the last or bottom-last grill flange so it gets some support from the dash structure itself as opposed to grill flanges only. That's not stated clearly anywhere.However, the nicest part of this holder is that it offers some distance from the grill so that the phone does not block the airflow and get overly hot in the winter. It takes a bit of effort to set up--thus my hints and 4 stars. Ease-of-Use wise, the back-button release function is both too slow and awkward to reach depending on placement. I have a drop-in/lift out model that makes placement a snap. I suspect this one will hold up better in a hard stop or collision, when a flying phone might do more harm to you than the collision itself. So, given the movement is reliable I went with 5. Sturdiness is OK but locking it in place might be challenging for older hands and less flexible fingers, really 4.5 stars.
