Product worked great on my hair
4 out of 5 stars
Product worked great on my hair
Product arrived with one of the bags with a hole in it, which made a pretty big mess in the box, looked like the box had been opened before. However, it worked great. One bag was more than enough for my hair (just past shoulder length, and fairly thick). I used hot water to mix it to the consistency of thick yogurt (as per instructions I found online), let sit for an hour, and then applied to my hair. Left it on my hair for 3 hours with my head wrapped in a bread-bag, and then rinsed it off. Colour is rich. I'm curious how long it will last.

It had been years since I had colour in my hair!
I needed a change and decided to colour my hair. I came upon this brand (but was thinking about using a different colour) and read the reviews.
Then I looked into the red...and I have to thank all the previous people who took the time to write a review because it helped me greatly to make a decision.
Since my hair already has red undertones, I figured my face could naturally handle it. lol
My natural hair is dark blond/light brown. I let it sit under saranwrap for 2hours.

I am very impressed with how well it took to my hair and created a gorgeous rich colour. Aside from the fact that I'm still getting used to it, I love love love the colour! Now I have to love it on me! lol! It's jus the winter pick-me-upper I needed!
I'm sharing a before and after photo.

My sister and I are natural redheads. We faded a bit with time and used this on the week-end. We applied it like regular hair coloring. We have never died our hair. My sister did tests on hair clipping. After applying it to our hair, we left it in 5 MINUTES ONLY before washing it out and got a stunning deeper red, like our natural color 10 years back. Very happy. The one with me alone is before henna, with my sister is after the henna. Enjoy and dont over do it. The hair test pieces came out way too orange to our liking after 10 minutes.

I used Lush henna for years but they changed their henna formula a few years back and it no longer worked for me. I gave this one a whirl and am so happy I did. IIve been using it consistently for about 3 years now. I love the colour and it's fairly easy to apply. My hair grows fast and I prefer to reapply every 3-4 weeks. I use Sun-In when the build up gets too dark over time (as here). Please note that my natural colour is copper red so it takes well.

I expected that the red would stick to the grey, and the dark brown would stay dark brown. But I did a pretty good job covering it all, and maybe 7 hours with a bag on my headight have been too long, or I have way more grey than I realized, but holy doodle.. my hair went all copper red. Took a bit to get used to, but now a week later, I love it.

I was looking for a replacement henna for Lush Rouge and bought this product after all the positive reviews and pictures. I am very pleased with the result! It is easier and less mess than the Lush one. I will continue to be a loyal customer.

I bought the Copper Red color, and it dyed my hair coppery red, quite successfully. When I was a kid my hair was fairly bright red, but has since faded to a dark blond with bright blond tips bleached by the sun, and just a hint of ginger in the sunlight. This was the first time I have ever dyed my hair.

I mixed the henna with hot water according to the instructions and I let it rest for 5 hours. I noticed the dye pooling on top of the mixture after about an hour. I applied it to my hair and I put on a couple disposable shower caps and then wrapped my head with a towel. I let it sit in my hair for only an hour and a half, because I didn't want it to go too dark and I thought I can always do more, but I can't undo it. I then rinsed it out in the shower. It took what felt like forever for the water to run clear, but the paste itself wasn't difficult to wash out of my hair.

It was late at night by this time, so I went to sleep and waited to see the results in the morning when my hair had dried. It was bright orange! Everywhere online said not to panic, so I did my best not to. It wasn't like a hideous color or anything, but definitely orange. I gave it some time, and by the next morning it was still quite bright, but more of a copper tone than orange. It has since settled into a bright copper color that is saturated, but not artificial looking after about 3 days. I have included photos of before the henna, 12 hours after application, and 65 hours after application.

I may go over it again later on to push it a little more toward a red than a copper, but for now I'm going to enjoy it the way it is, I quite like it. My natural hair color is quite golden-blond where the sun has bleached it, and I think that golden undertone contributes to the coppery hue. It looks more red near the top of my head where the hair is darker. I have a decent crop of grey hairs, and the henna covered them completely. They are now a super bright shiny copper color that gives dimension to my hair, rather than desaturating it like the grey did.

Overall it was pretty easy. I did the actual application in my bathtub; I just bent my head over the henna bowl and let my hair hang down over it and slathered the paste on from roots to tip. My hair is waist length, and I used one of the packets that came in the box to do my whole head. I probably could have even gotten by with less than that, but I wanted to ensure good coverage, especially since I am a novice at hair dyeing. It definitely has an earthy smell, but I don't find it offensive. It did color my tub where I dripped it on the floor of the bathtub, but I let some water with bleach rest in the tub the next day and it bleached all the color away and the tub is as good as new again.

I've never used henna before, so I don't have any real comparison, but after my first dye-job I'm well pleased with this product; it did what it was supposed to do.

This henna powder was superb. I’ve used various bands over the last 40 years so can tell good from bad. I’d highly recommend this one. It mixed up to a lovely consistency, the small was just right- pure henna smell. I left it for a few hours in a bowl covered with cling film in a warm place to develop. You could see the colour oozing out as it developed. I left it on my hair for just over an hour, as I hadn’t done a strand test and wasn’t sure exactly how strong it would be.( I often leave henna on several hours) This didn’t disappoint and I’m left with a really rich colour and very shiny hair.

I made the product up with hot water from the tap, is lumpy at first but keep stiring and it will smooth out. I covered with cling film and left it about 6 hours then applied it to dry day old hair. Petroleum jelly kept my hairline from going orange. I left it on for 4 hours and then washed it out, it also didn't stain my plastic bath or skin. Very happy and content with this product and it will become my regular hair dye now

This was my first time using henna. I am a natural ginger but I wanted to enhance the redness of my hair. I think the directions said leave it on for 3 hours but I didn’t want the full pigment, so I left it for 1 hour, shampooed it out 3 times and these are the results. Very, very pigmented. it was definitely a shock at first. After a few weeks, it has faded. It’s still a copper red color just not as bright. you cant fully wash out all of the henna after using it but it will slowly come out in the shower after a few days. The henna did dry out my hair and make it a little rough so make sure to oil or condition your hair after using the henna.. then follow up with a good hair mask after a few days.
