This is our 3rd Hatch product and we love them. Customizable to provide so many different sounds, colors , etc. It's in our 3 month Old baby's nursery and I love that I can adjust settings from the app whether I'm napping trapped in the nursing chair or in a different room. It's also sleek looking and fits our neutral decor. The app is fairly straight forward to use, but also having the favorites set up so you can quickly turn on and off to exact settings by touching the device is great. As a nursing mom I also appreciate the dimmable clock feature so I know what time it is during night feedings but the light doesn't affect baby's sleep.My only real complaint is we have 3 different products from hatch and the app is different for all 3 items so there's a bit of a curve there.I gave it lower rating for travel and portability bc this unit needs to be plugged in to work, amd it's a bit big for travel. We have the upgraded version for our older child and have traveled with it (works with battery or plug in) and its annoying ti set up on internet upon arrival of destination to use app so if you do travel make sure you have favorite settings set up for easier use.

My family has 3 of these hatches now. Love these hatches a lot. We originally got them for our kids, but I ended up buying one additional one of these for myself too as my own noise maker and wake up light. They really stand behind their products. Rain noise quality is perfect, you can't hear any stuttering or anything. Love the lights and the scheduling.

One of the things that really surprised me was how this company stands behind the quality of their products caring for their customers. For one of our hatch devices, unprompted they reached out to us through the app saying they wanted to replace our device because they noticed on their side there could be an issue causing the device noise generator to occasionally be cutting out. This was around ~2 years into owning the device and we hadn't noticed anything wrong with it at all. They sent us a replacement free of charge. This seems unheard of, a company going out of their way to report a potential issue to you and proactively going out of their way to give you a new free device. It's really clear they care a ton about their customers.

I didn’t buy into the hype with this but was gifted some baby money and was desperate for sleep. This is a wonderful sound machine. Being able to control the volume and lights and choose from an array of different sounds is amazing. My baby definitely will wake up hear the noise and see the red light is on, and often puts himself back to sleep. Definitely has made it easy for me to establish a routine and understand sleep indicators. I don’t find the WiFi connect to be that disappointing although I’ve never had Gen 1, it hooked up instantly for me when I bought it and the subscription is an optional thing? Still has plenty of features. You tap the rim to change settings you’ve made in the app like if you have made a schedule or bedtime routine. Then you hold your finger on the rim to power off. The rest is buttons. Seemed pretty straight forward to me

Don’t buy this version. We have the hatch rest + for our son and love it !

This 2nd gen hatch rest is awful. It always glitches, clock sometimes works sometimes doesn’t, you have to crank the volume full to get a decent sleeping sound. And to top it all off it will connect to my wifi but it will not connect to the app no matter what I’ve tried ! So I’m stuck using the pre programmed noise and lights which is awful. The white noise is stuck on a red light and my poor newborn hates it and won’t sleep in her room. But she loves her brothers room that we were able to make more relaxing with different colours and sounds! The programming on this one sucks and I’ve read a lot of reviews online about it as well and people have the same issues. So do yourself a favour and do not buy this version !!! I’m ready to throw it in the garbage and cry - signed a seriously stressed out tired mama

I went through 2 cheaper machines until i finally invested in the Hatch and it was well worth it. It's easy to use and looks cute. No issues and ive had mine for 3 yrs. There was once an issue with the cord however I contacted Hatch and they instantly sent me a new one. I love the different colours, the different sounds, volume intensity etc - and best of all you can turn it on and off with your phone. A must have with a baby and a gift I love giving as a baby shower gift.

At first it was a little frustrating to figure out how to connect to my phone, as our wifi is pretty in and out. But once I found the spot where the Wi-Fi would connect, it was super easy to set up and get it up and running. The appearance is super sleek looking, and the quality is very durable and holds up perfectly even after being dropped a few times. I haven’t traveled with it yet but plan to take it when we go to the beach for a week since it’s super portable and just requires a simple plug in chord to work. The night light works great and has perfect dimming and brightness for the light. The only thing I wish is that the night light would turn on by a touch instead of a button which is too hard to see at night. I wish I wouldn’t have to get my phone out to turn the night light on in the middle of the night, but it’s still super convenient with the color options (we use the red since it blocks melatonin disrupters) and ability to easily change the brightness. Would recommend! It’s very easy to control and turn on from our phone which makes it super convenient and is very versatile with the different noise options that it has.
