I recently upgraded my work-from-home workstation with the Minisforum NAB6 mini-PC from Amazon. This small form factor device is all I could ever wish for – the specs are amazing, and the price is reasonable. So, I needed an additional keyboard.

I have an older HP all-in-one desktop which came with a really slim HP keyboard version where the keys have a very low profile. The pictures for this HP 230 model misled me totally; I thought I was buying the slim version, so I was a bit disappointed that this keyboard was not what I expected. I also made the mistake of buying this version with the mouse. I should have bought the standalone version because I am happy with my current vertical mouse.

Long story short, I gave this traditional-size keyboard a chance. After using it for a couple of weeks, I am actually loving the experience, haha. I feel like I am typing on keys resting on a cloud. Yes, the profile of the keys is high, but it is surprisingly tactile and easy to use. Would I buy this type of keyboard again? Not anymore because I will go for the HP slim keyboard version. Would I keep this? I sure will. It is still a good keyboard. I am still giving it 5 stars. HP is ever dependable.

I have small hands but even I had trouble with the layout of this keyboard. It feels like my hands are too big for it. The mouse is fine. Very responsive. The keyboard is nice and lightweight.
UPDATE: I have now been using the keyboard/mouse set for a little over a month and the keyboard stopped working. This is my personal computer and so I don't actually use the keyboard that much, however, I tried changing the batteries but it still wouldn't work. The mouse is still fine so it's not the USB. Trying to get support from HP is a joke. I'm really not happy about it. I would say that I guess you get what you pay for but I didn't even get that!

This is very quiet. I don't know why but I hate the sound of typing and mouse clicks and this keyboard is quiet. It doesn't require heavy hitting as the buttons are relatively flat to the keyboard, similar to a laptop. I also love that it is cordless so I can just move it out of the way to tidy up. It is not a big fancy ergonomically correct keyboard but I have not had any trouble using it and I have arthritis and my wrists aren't as good as they could be. It does have adjustable legs, although I just use it flat. I audit orders in the production control department where I work so I would say medium to heavy usage would best describe. I use the 10-key buttons and the function keys as well. Very easy to use, and VERY quiet. I've had it for 2 months and haven't had to replace the batteries yet. I am super happy with it!
