Absolutely perfect, just what I needed.
5 Stars
Absolutely perfect, just what I needed.
Printing is an infrequent thing for me and after so much headache with inkjet heads drying out and fighting with a Canon printer insisting on color cartridges being needed even when I specified 'Black' only, I decided to switch to laser.I wish I had done it sooner. Even with taking everything out the box and reading through the guide before setting up, it only took 20 minutes to go from out the box to printing. And it prints fast, much faster than I expected. Same thing for scanning too. All in all, it only took me about 10 minutes total to scan and print off everything I needed to.It is wireless and even specifies to NOT use a USB for setting up. If you're having issues setting up, it may be due to your signal strength. Try a signal booster or setting up the printer where the signal is clearer. If that still isn't the problem, I would say use the USB only if you've called theit support line and they specify to do USB set up. CAVEAT: there is no USB cable in the box, so you will need to already have one. Now, as to the size: this printer was much smaller than I expected, even with doublechecking the dimensions. And this was critical because I have the IKEA Ivar fold down table as my desk; the bottom shelf on the table unit is smaller than the usual Ivar shelves by almost a full inch. The printer needed to be small enough with a fold away paper tray to not obstruct the leg from folding back in place to let the table drop down. This printer absolutely delivered on that, even with the power cord needing a bit of space. If you do a lot of black/white printing, then HP's Instant Ink will be something to consider. However, a word of warning: the plans are priced PER PAGE, so judge accordingly. If you are an infrequent printer, like myself, just buying the toner cartridge when you run low is likely going to be better for you. The HP Smart app lets you monitor toner levels easily though, so it isn't really a guessing game of "how much more can I print without running out halfway through".10/10 printer, absolutely recommend it.

Got this 29% off on a limited time deal. VERY easy to hook up using your smart phone. Very quiet, small footprint and quick page printing. I love HP laserjets and this is just the right size to put on a bookcase shelf. WiFi works brilliantly and no sleep mode to have to wake the unit up from. Excellent product at a less than $100 price point. Replacement toner cartridges print ~950 pgs. not sure how many we'll get from the introductory cartridge. The replacement HP toner cartridges are less than twice the price of the 67XL black ink cartridges so makes sense financially as well.

This printer is perfect for me, needed to print from ipad, ink jet printers dry up if not constantly used so needed a laser printer. Printer sets up easily and compact for easy storage when not in use. Great value for money. Makes printing from tablet(iPad) so easy without cables. This is the printer I was looking for!

It was SUPER easy to connect to my home network without requiring an app or anything. Then super quick to discover in Windows 11 and print the first 10 pages or so. Then it stopped printing.

I had an error message in Windows 11 but only saying "your printer requires your attention". But no useful details. I went to the printer, there was a error light blinking, but the screen did not provide any error core or message (it's a pretty useless LCD screen) . I rebooted, unplugged, removed, reinserted the paper... Nothing could resolve the issue.

I installed the application on my mobile with hopes the error message would show up. It took my 10-15 tries to find the printer but when it found it, it said the printed needed to finish it's setup. Then I realized what was the problem, you are required to have an HP online account to use the printer even if you do not want to use ANY of the "smart features".

I am returning the printer as I do not want to create online accounts that can be hacked by anyone and get access to my printer and network. There is no technical justification why you would need to create an online account to use a printer. This is a tactic companies use to get your data and sell it to marketing agencies.

The print quality of the first 10 pages or so was ok (nothing impressive). It was fast enough to use occasionally. But seriously these tactics MUST STOP.

While the quality does not measure up to my old LaserJet 6P it is satisfactory for occasional use. It is tiny for a laser printer and the temptation is to believe that it is portable. I would have liked to be able to use it in the woods while building a cabin to print drawings, but it requires WIFI. Flawed assumption is what comes from urban living. The designers have not thought the process through to the end of the equation. In any event, setup was easy and straightforward from my desktop computer, but I have not yet succeeded in getting it to print from my laptop. That likely arises because years separate the time each of these were purchased and setup of accounts are not identical. So it works on one, but does not recognize the other and does not respond. Like all of the smart devices it requires 2.4 ghz WIFI so you will likely have to set your router to broadcast in both 2.4 and 5.0 ghz.

Note: About three months later the info that the printer uses to sign in to WIFI became corrupted so a printer offline message appeared. In order to fix it you need to connect the printer to the computer with a USB 2.0 male A to male B printer cable. It is a good idea to have one on hand, as you will likely eventually need to use it and it is not included with the printer.

I've been very please with this printer. The quality is good and prints super fast. Setup was a breeze, but you do have to download and install HP's software application for it to work. Now to see how long the toner cartridges last...

I am so happy with this printer. It’s the size of a shoebox, it’s fast, and it’s laser so I don’t have to keep buying ink. I even bought a second one so I have one at home and in my office. Note that it can get hot when printing high volume, but that does not diminish my appreciation for this little workhorse.

1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE printer! Cheaply made and CONSTANTLY goes offline! Also FELL APART!
Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2023
Style: LaserJetVerified Purchase
I bought this printer to replace a Samsung laser printer I had for years. I thought at the time my printer had a short as when I would go to print the circuit would blow. Ended up the printer was just fine, the issue was too many things on the same circuit.

Meanwhile I'd ordered this printer. Here's all the issues I had. Note, I am VERY tech savvy.

1) I had to contact tech support just to connect it to my network. It would just keep hanging and not continuing with setup.

2) I had to contact tech support AGAIN the next day because it would not come online no matter what I tried. Tech support then told me the last person I'd been on the phone with nearly an HOUR with did something wrong.

3) It CONSTANTLY goes offline. It doesn't matter if I printed two minutes ago. The only way to get it back online is to turn it off and on.

4) Turning it off is oddly hard to do! You press the power button and nothing happens! Then you press it again and nothing happens. On the third time it finally turns off.

5) This was what made me decide to send this piece of junk bank. The ink said it was running low so I opened the door to replace it. This roller piece that guides the paper FELL RIGHT OFF! Just dropped down inside the printer! With NO real manual for this printer and NOTHING online I could not figure out how to get it back in place. I went to contact support but it was the weekend so they were CLOSED. The ONLY way to contact someone would be to PAY for support - SERIOUSLY??? I was trying to get some work done this weekend and ended up having to hook my old printer back up.

This printer is clearly VERY cheaply made and support is sketchy. I will never buy another HP printer now that I've seen how bad they are. I also don't like that unlike my Samsung printer with an internal paper tray this one is open. So dust, pet hair can so easily get inside the printer.

The most satisfying thing about this printer was packing it up to drop it off at UPS!

4.0 out of 5 stars NOT auto duplex
Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2023
Style: LaserJet printerVerified Purchase
Print quality is good. Set up was easy. I like the compact design. BUT................
NOT auto duplex- it is manual duplex – This might be a deal breaker for me because my printer is not next to my desk and I will have to walk over to flip the pages.
Prints slower than expected, but not terrible. Printed 8 pages in 1min 22sec.
Printer status not available when printing from computer. You have to use phone app to see this.
I was printing copies from my computer and it stopped working (needed to cool down). I couldn’t figure out why. Turns out the phone app will give you the printer status, but I was unable to check the status on my laptop. It’s possible I did not download the software appropriately.
This can’t handle volume printing. I was printing approx. 120 pages and it stopped printing a few times to “cool down”. Printed approx. 50 pgs before “cool down” started. This happened about every 7-8 pages after the first 50 printed. Cool down time was approx. 4mins each time. I can usually space out my printing so this isn't that big of a deal for me, but if you need to do volume printing this may not be the printer for you unless you have the patience to wait through the cool down cycles.
