This jar of 250 capsules calcium magnesium butyrate should last for 125 days, as the dose is 2 capsules daily. I received the product in 01/2023 and it has a best before date of 08/2024.The capsules are what I would call a fairly standard size; the same as my omega gels and my multivitamins. They're easy enough to swallow. They stink, though! When you open the bottle, you'll notice a fairly strong smell, kind of rotten almost. It isn't pleasant, and it lingers on my hands after I take the capsules until I wash them with soap and water. On the upside, the capsules are flavorless. Once you swallow them, they're done. No aftertaste, no burping or indigestion. It is my understanding that butyrate on its own smells quite strongly, so the scent of these capsules let's me know that they contain what they say they do.This is a product for digestive heath, so my review has to mention bowel movements (sorry!). Your results will likely be different than mine, as every body is different. I will say that I've been recovering from surgery, and the painkillers that I'm on have really slowed things down. These capsules have really helped me out. About 2 hours after my first dose, I had a bowel movement. And then a couple hours after that, another one. Prior to that, it had been several days.I've been continuing to take this supplement each day, with food as directed. It has kept my digestive tract flowing right along, which has me feeling incredibly relieved. Like any nutritional supplement, speak with your doctor before starting. And a word of advice: when you take the first dose, try and make sure it's on a day that you're home, so you don't get caught somewhere.My painkiller-slowed digestive tract is loving this calcium magnesium butyrate. I haven't experienced any adverse effects either: no cramping, no gas, no diarrhea. After two weeks of taking this supplement daily, I'm sitting pretty on the Bristol scale.
