Locking hangers use a guitar's weight to hold it securely in the cradle; the little fold-down arms close as soon as you hang up your guitar, thereby ensuring it can't fall out. Hangers like this were pioneered by the Hercules company, and this Omniwod product is a nice variation on the Hercules design.Build quality is good, and the mechanism works cleanly. It should fit almost any instrument without difficulty; even my chunky 5-string bass neck popped right in with room to spare. The cradle is coated with silicone material that protects against scratches and also helps improve its grip.I tested two Omniwod hangers, one with a wooden mounting block and the other with a metal tab. Both worked fine, but I preferred the metal one because it felt a bit more stable. The wood block does have the advantage of extending a little further out from the wall, which could be desirable if you're hanging an acoustic. The metal tab could also bend over time, while the wood block is more resilient.The stem of the cradle screws into a receiving nut on the mount. This is a good solid hanger. It fits most guitar necks.

My main comment about this is not about the product but about installation. Make sure you use good screws and get them into a stud in the wall. You don't want your guitar to come crashing down due to weak screw installation.

This item has a nice rubbery finish which lends good adhesion/friction to the guitar neck, so it won't slip around.

There's not much to review here, other than it works. Just use good screws.

I'm happy with this product.

Mounting gear is included in case you need to anchor this to drywall. Has a rubber lining to protect any nice finishes on your guitar. Pretty hard to get this type of thing wrong.

Build quality is good, and the mechanism works cleanly. It should fit almost any instrument without difficulty; even my chunky 5-string bass neck popped right in with room to spare. The cradle is coated with silicone material that protects against scratches and also helps improve its grip.

I tested two Omniwod hangers, one with a wooden mounting block and the other with a metal tab. Both worked fine, but I preferred the metal one because it felt a bit more stable. The wood block does have the advantage of extending a little further out from the wall, which could be desirable if you're hanging an acoustic. The metal tab could also bend over time, while the wood block is more resilient.

The stem of the cradle screws into a receiving nut on the mount. It's not an ideal design, but it offers enough play to hang instruments with almost any shape of headstock, whether symmetrical or offset.

While this works perfectly well, I'm not overly enthusiastic about the price. Most similar off-brand hangers sell in the $17-20 range, so $24.99 is a tad pricey. You can buy a genuine Hercules hanger for the same amount, and that makes it hard to recommend this one over an actual name brand that has a proven track record of quality and performance. As much as I like it, I'd recommend shopping around a bit before buying.

The wood is finished nicely, looks really good and installs on the wall prior to screwing in the locking mechanism. The mechanism/bracket is coated with a black silicone like grooved non slip rubber that protects the neck of the guitar. The Mechanism is slightly tilted upward and the weight of the guitar pulls it downward which makes the locking brackets tilt into place to keep the guitar from falling off. It works really well.
