This is an absolutely fantastic product. It's very customizable, super easy to use and to change light settings and brightness within the mobile app. It also has flawless integration with Alexa. It's perfect for any space, especially a game room or sideboard / shelf. It can fit into any decor. I've had it for a year now and I'm very happy with it.

I recently got my hands on the Govee RGBIC Table Lamp, and let me tell you, it's been quite the journey. Initially, I bought it as a bedside lamp, hoping for that perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. While it didn't quite hit the mark there, I'm glad I gave it a chance because it has found its sweet spot elsewhere in my home.
The lamp itself is a part of the Govee ecosystem, which I've dabbled in before with their LED strip lights. Those lasted for years and worked like a charm, so I had high hopes for this lamp. It didn't disappoint. The setup was quick, and the app is a breeze to navigate. I love that I can control the lighting from my tablet, adjusting the brightness and colors with ease.
Speaking of colors, this lamp offers a plethora of options. From cozy "reading" modes to vibrant "leisure" settings, it's a playground for creating the perfect ambiance. I particularly enjoy the music sync feature, which adds an extra layer of fun to my space. And let's not forget the DIY options for crafting custom scenes – while I may not use them extensively, it's a nice touch for those creative moments.
One thing that stood out to me is the gradual transition when turning the light on or changing colors. It's not harsh on the eyes and adds a touch of sophistication to the experience. The lamp's brightness is just right, permeating the room without overwhelming it.
Now, onto the design. It's sleek, modern, and fits seamlessly into my decor. The touch controls on top are handy, offering a tactile way to adjust settings without reaching for my phone every time. And of course, the smart compatibility is a game-changer. Being able to integrate it with Alexa for voice commands feels like living in the future.
I do want to address the concern some users have about the lamp flashing. I haven't experienced that issue personally, but it's worth mentioning as it could be a drawback for some.

Now the thing that separates this from the pack is its rgbic technology. You can have some sick gradients and epic animations. There are a bunch of different lighting presets provided by the Govee app, some of my favorites are pictured above. The app is really convenient, and you can connect it with google or alexa to voice control the lamp. For example, you can say "hey google turn the lamp off in 10 minutes." And it will turn off. It also has a DIY tab where you can make your own lighting setups, which is really fun, it can be a little hard to work with and get the results you want, I'll be it. The brightness is great, almost too great... All the white lights on it can light up a room, no problem, and they can dim enough to be a good night light. But when you are working with the rgb mode, such as some of their lighting presets, It doesn't get dim enough to comfortably sleep with. Small gripe, but annoying nevertheless. The lamp has four buttons on the top, two for brightness, one for light color and one for music mode.
Overall, this is a lamp I strongly recommend if you have the cash. It adds so much to any setup.
Update;
I've now had this lamp for a few months, and It was all going great until a couple of weeks ago, when half the light went dead (sorta). When using this light sometimes (rather consistently) half of it freezes, like if an animation is playing, half the lamp will freeze as the other half still functions normally. And if you try to switch lighting presets while this is happening, half of the lamp will change, but the other half remains frozen. This trend continues when you try and turn off the lamp, you get the picture, half will go off as it should as the other half remains on, unable to turn off until you pull the plug. But if you do this, when you go to turn it on, the working side will turn on, but the lame side will remain off. This is really disappointing considering how much I praised it. Now, this glitch may not happen to you. So I still mean what I said before in this review, but there is a chance this same glitch will happen to you. Overall I'm lowering it a star, I will lower it more if i can't get it fixed.
Update 2;
I know this is a little late as I forgot to update the review, but I'm raising the review back up to five stars because of Govees top notch customer service, I reported the forementioned issue to them and all I had to do was submit some proof of the issue, then they sent me a new light without even making me return the old one, it didn't take very long at all to get this done, so once again I highly highly recommend this lamp. While I'm updating things, they actually added a new update. They added a bunch of new lighting presets which really breathe new life into the user experience, even more of a reason to recommend it now, some of these new settings include this cool firefly effect which is awesome. And one that imitates stormy clouds, Plus quite a few more, if I remember correctly I think they added 22 new effects since I got it (don't qoute me on that). I'm looking forward to buying from them in the future.

Second, the app is easy to navigate. Setup was fast. I like that I can control my lighting from my tablet. The brightness of the lamp is great, I appreciate the subtle changes in brightness, it really makes a difference.
Ambience is important to me, so I love that this light can permeate a small-mid sized room. The mood is easily established depending on the hue and brightness. I also like the music sensitivity feature, music modes are fun for me and I play around with those.
Also, I like the fact that when I turn the light on via the button on top, it doesn't instantly switch on or off. It has a transition, a sort of fade, and that's just nice for the eyes. Same thing happens when changing colors, there's a transition between the two.
I read books, so having a designated reading mode is awesome.
All in all, great light, it gets the job done and beyond that. It's aesthetic, ambient, and colorful. I'm not surprised by Govee and their quality products.
