I am experiencing a recurring issue with my mobile device wherein it overheats and unexpectedly shuts down. Additionally, I have been unable to organize my apps into folders. On a positive note, the phone allows for emoji responses within regular text messages and boasts impressive picture quality. Furthermore, Google Translate and other features are notably more accurate. Overall, I appreciate the look and feel of the device; however, it is worth noting that this is the first Android I have owned that experiences such extreme overheating and becomes incredibly hot to the touch.

I bought this phone being affordable for the type of phone and while reading the reviews I saw how to unlock the phone in the reviews as it was in demo mode. The steps worked and I am passing the steps to others that were not able to see that review posted in March 2023.

"Similar to prior reviews, upon booting up the phone, I discover that the phone was in managed mode and could only be in demo mode.

Here the steps I used to factory reset so it can be set for personal use. Hope that will help people. Paid less than $400 and so far, I'm very pleased with it. Bigger and heavier than my pixel 4a but really like the quality of picture + battery life so far.

1. Turn off the phone by pressing power + volume up
2. Press power + volume down until you see the recovery mode
3. Use volume to select "Recovery Mode" and press power to select
4. You should see an android robot with the mention "no command"
5. Hold down the power button for 3-5 sec and then press and release the volume up button. That should bring you to another screen where you'll be able to select factory reset. Then, it should be good to set up as usual. "

The Pixel 6 is an underrated phone. Sure it has its share of bugs, the fingerprint sensor can be finnicky, but it's getting better after every update and with the right screen protector and after registering my fingerprint twice, it works better than my G8X's optical fingerprint sensor.

For all of this, you get a slick looking device that takes wonderful pictures with a fluid, clean Pixel interface.

This is one of those things that just gets better as it ages and receives Google updates, and with now 5 years of guaranteed updates, it has a lot of time to get better.

The phone boots into managed mode. The users who say that a factory reset fixes this are wrong.

The factory reset will fix the issue only until you reconnect the phone to wi-fi, and as soon as the phone contacts google servers to get updates, it will immediately go back into managed mode.

additionally, the bootloader is locked and cannot be unlocked without applying updates. This makes it impossible to reinstall android or get around the problem with adb or fastboot. the phone number given in the managed mode message does not pick up and the email address does not accept messages.
