PROS
Perfect Fit: They snugly fit my small compost can. No more wrestling with the bag to make it fit and have it potentially rip
Sturdy: I used to double bag those cheaper ones, but these hold their own. No mess
Slightly Scented: There's a subtle fresh scent to them. It's nice, not too strong

CONS
No Ties: One minor hiccup—they don't have ties. I have to be careful not to overstuff them, or closing can be tricky. In any case our district does not allow us to throw out the bag

Pricey, But Worth It: They are a bit more expensive than others available, but honestly, for the convenience and quality, I'm not complaining.

I did hear some folks had issues with leaks, but so far, so good for me. I'm all in for anything that makes composting less of a chore and helps the environment.

Durable indeed. I have had bags rip while opening because they were so thin. They are leak proof and the perfect size.

These have become a staple in our household, and we've grown to rely on them for our composting needs. With their fresh lemon scent, they make the whole process a bit more pleasant. We've found that they hold up well, even with our sometimes rough handling. They've definitely made managing our compost easier and more convenient.

Pros:
- These bags fit my small kitchen bin as I shared kitchen with my roommates.
- The scent is natural and pretty good.

Cons:
- The bag is easily moisturized when the bag has been used for 3 to 4 days more, compared to non-compostable bags.
- I put a kitchen towel at the bottom of my kitchen bin to absorb the moisture created by the organic food. However, I am required to clean the bin once or twice a month after kicking out the bags for hygiene purpose.

Overall, I would buy normal trash bags for my organic food next time.

The first time I bought these bags I had to cut each bag apart due to the fact if you tried to “rip” the bags apart you ripped the bags. The bags now come already cut. Great compostable bags. Love them.

The worst scenario of trying to pull out your compost and it's at the bottom of the bin and you have to get another bag and transfer it. Well, it was the final time that was gonna happen. I bought these bags and I must say I'm glad I did.
They are thicker and stronger than some of these bags out there, the food waste does not go through the bag and they smell nice.

The bad path about this is I really should have spent the extra few dollars as these bags go a long way for the price. It is worth spending those couple of dollars more as it only works out to be a few cents.

Worth the buy!!!

Truly these are the best ones. I've used these for the last 6 years and not one bag has leaked or split on us. They have a good heft to them you would almost think they are plastic. I try and get most things on sale so i usually buy 2 boxes when I'm low and I see they are on beacuse I know they will not let me down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thick enough to hold in moisture and odor, easy tie-up.

Finding good compost bags is a challenge. Most of them are very thin, and leak moisture and smells very quickly. The ones I used in the past were the maximum thickness allowed, and were fantastic, until the vendor stopped making them in kitchen container sizes. The Glad bags are the next-thickest ones I could find, and have done admirably well. They are strong enough to hold in liquids and avoid excessive moisture in the container, although I've found there is a little more than with thicker bags. The twist ties, however, are an added bonus, and make tying them up for disposal a lot easier. They also do a good job of trapping nasty odors. So far, these are the best kitchen compost bags I've been able to find for the cost.

1.0 out of 5 stars A delicate pain in the backside and exceedingly overpriced, but they work if you're very, very careful.

Bought these bags specifically to use to clean out the litter boxes for my two cats. They work great for that, if you can get them not to tear when you open them. I found that the trick to opening the bags without tearing them every time is to gently unfold the bags at the bottom end first and then very gently open the little petals/tabs at the top, making sure to pay special attention to the sides so as not to split them. Even then, you stand a fair chance of splitting the sides, so you'll probably lose at least two bags per box to that little issue.

As for the price, definitely pick them up at your local grocery or department store, someone in Amazon's pricing department is obviously smoking some bad stuff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent compost bags overall

These bags are much better than the previous compostable bags we had been using. The odor shield really does make a difference and they do not break down as easily or quickly as other brands, so we haven't had an issue with the bag breaking when we try to take it out of the compost bin to bring outside.

The one downside (and the reason I took away a star) is that a surprising number of these bags seem to be defective. Hopefully it's just the one box, and luckily the bags are big compared to our counter-top composting bin, so they are still usable, but it's a little bit annoying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great biodegradable bags

These bags are great. I love how the bags are biodegradable and the odor shield is not overwhelming. For me, the "fresh clean" smell is very light and definitely helps in masking odors. Obviously, because these are biodegradable they WILL disintegrate over time, so once you fill up your garbage take it out.

I am so happy with these bags. They are the perfect size and are earth friendly. I highly recommend them for responsible garbage disposal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hippies, get off the computer!
Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2015
Size: 20 count (Pack of 1)Verified Purchase
They smell funny. Or maybe that's the trash inside it... Never really considered that until just now. But, they're also very flimsy.

Look, I'm all about preserving the environment. But not at the cost of the bag busting open, spilling beans and cotton swabs and rotten mango all over the floor. Do you think I want MANGO all over the floor? I mean, does an extra 1/100th of an inch thickness hurt the environment that badly? No. So, my only suggestion is to make these a little thicker.

If the hippies have a problem with my opinion, then get off your computer. You're releasing literally ounces of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere year by using a computer.
