Poor quality build. Overpriced for what you get.

This strap is great. Easy to connect and use. Accurate (to my mind, but I'm not a scientist). However, I would have preferred this lasts at least a year. Part of the sensors are falling apart. So I've had to order a replacement. The battery might last 3 years, but the strap doesn't appear to. Hope it's just a one-offI'm adding to my old review: my second strap has stopped transmitting data to the watch. I've had it for less than a year... Issue as my first, peeling sensors. +$80 is a lot to ask for a product that is simple to design and manufacture, but doesn't last more than a year. Who cares that the battery lasts long if the strap doesn't.When it works, it works well. But the durability is deeply disappointing.

Comfortable to wear and does the job it was designed for.

This is my first heart rate monitor and so I didn't realize the Amazon description of the monitor meant I'd need a Garmin watch or computer as well, and couldn't just connect directly to my phone using the Garmin Connect app. Seems like Garmin wants you to buy both the HRM-Dual and another one of their devices.

However, internet to the rescue and I found 2 apps that will connect with it. Polar and Fitiv. I'm still on the free versions so far, but I've heard you can continue to use the free versions. Both of them though present the results nicely enough that I'll consider buying a subscription to one of them. I'm still testing them out so will have a better idea which style/which app I like better. Both are good though.

As for the HRM-Dual itself, it connected to both apps with no difficulty. It didn't connect to Strava though despite all the trouble-shooting and me getting a trial subscription to Strava. Maybe at some point I'll figure it out, but if not, then no big deal. The monitor did connect automatically to my Health app (iPhone 14). I can't comment on battery life as I've not had it long enough.

The strap seems sturdy, and it has stayed in place despite some vigorous exertions. I thought it had slipped down while cycling but it hadn't moved at all. It was so comfortable I didn't even know it was still in place. I kept pressing my fingers to just below my sternum where the monitor is located to double-check it was still in place.

So far, quite happy with it and I don't feel any need to buy another device just to use the HRM-Dual.

I've been using this HRM strap for months, doing a multitude of sports (running, biking, cardio kickboxing, weight training, core training)

It tracks my heart rate well, connect to my garmin watch instantly, and sticks well to the body. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism to keep the strap loop from sliding off it's plastic counterpart is a minuscule "nub" at the end of the plastic hook that is rounded off and barely 2-3mm (1/8"). Sure, it makes it very easy to slip the loop in, but it comes out just as easily. If you're doing any kind of core exercise, kickboxing, crunches, or even intense cycling with a lot of torsion, it might detach right at peak effort, which is very frustrating.

SO, it's "ok"... it does the job, and it's the cheapest garmin strap, but it detaches too easily. For running or long distance cycling it's perfect, but if you do a lot of core training or mobility movements, chances are it will detach and fall... I just wish there was a way to secure it in place so I wouldn't have to literally stop my workout to pick it up.

This is the stupidest device I’ve bought in a long time. The concept is great, however it doesn’t work with the app that the manufacturer created for their devices if you own an IPhone. If you own an iPhone and don’t want to buy additional devices to monitor your heart rate, don’t buy this.

The hrm I received had a depleted battery. It took me a while to figure this out since in order to remove the battery you need to undo four tiny screws - for which I had to go to a hardware store to buy a precision screwdriver. To add salt to injury, the hrm came with a precision screwdriver, but it was the wrong type...

Once I realized the battery was depleted, I just put a new one (which I luckily happened to have around, otherwise I would have had to buy another one) and it started working like a charm. Easily connected to my Garmin watch and Wahoo bike computer. Super precise and very comfortable to wear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great HRM - Beware compatibility with Apple Health & no Garmin App support
Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2022

Male, 5'9" 190 lbs 44" hairy chest. I only wear it running - an average of 4-6 hours per week.

Positives - comfortable! I perspire a good bit and it holds up. A snug but not uncomfortable fit works great. I don't notice it, which is a big plus.

Negatives - Garmin IOS app is not designed to recognize it -I mean come on its your product! The device doesn't show up in the selection list. Apple Health rarely picks up the signal - this is a big disappointment as the NikeRunClub only gets HR data through Apple Health. Another third party app (Heart Graph) works great with it - so I don't have HR data integrated with my other NRC data.

Overall a good value priced HRM. YMMV & please correct me if I missed something.
