Previously owned an instinct, which was great and rugged (perfect for my line of work) until I smashed the screen (still used it for a year or so after the screen cracked). I decided to upgrade recently to the Fenix 7X and well.. it’s much more impressive! Not only is this watch much more stylish then my previous instinct, it has far more health and fitness tracking abilities. Stats and info seems to be reliable and accurate to date (my instinct began to malfunction after years of use).
Great for work, exercise and general everyday use. The watch face is quite large (which I like), touch screen and buttons allow for multiple ways to operate (touch screen can be disabled). Tons of features and compatible apps/ Garmin devices. One of my favourite features (new to me from my previous instinct), is the Garmin IQ store, which can be used to download hundreds+ (free/purchase) watch faces, all with different designs and data displays, you can also download compatible apps, etc.
I highly recommend purchasing screen protectors and a face cover, if used for work, outdoor activities, etc. The only cons I’ve found to date are, the battery life isn’t as optimal as I’d like (even with the solar function, which I’ve utilized regularly) though with all the functions it makes sense, you can turn them off and get a lot more battery life. The second is that the touchscreen malfunctions in the water, though turning it off is an easy solution.
