Let windows run the drivers. Nothing but issues with audio, video playback, color rendering if you activate and use Armory Crate, AMD and Nvidia apps. They are not compatible with windows drivers and windows will auto write over any changes you make to personalize. Now that this system is running in the windows mode....no issues? Still have unexplained power off issues!. Usually it will power off by itself at least once a day. There is a Windows BIOS update and NVIDIA driver to upgrade. Have not done the update procedure as yet. Hopefully this will solve the random shutdowns that happen for no apparent trackable reason. I will update.

Ok, It has taken me awhile to make some settings changes. I've completed the BIOS update. I was worried but no problems, easy. All the software is up to date. Windows apps and tracking is complex. Windows 11 is system slowing and tracking apps and features that is taking me awhile to adjust....but i am much closer.

So, I am going to upgrade my rating on this unit to a four. Even though I am still experiencing random shutdown and restarts. This is a problem that is relatively common with windows 11 apparently.

Here is the latest update. Everything is running smoothly. I am now using some of the GEForce features. NVidia and AMD controls are working. What I can say is that I personally had a learning curve to overcome with this rig. That said I am impressed with the screen, and cooling is excellent. I am having fun with it! Still the random crash and restart but I am near positive it is a windows "ghost in the machinery"!

Totally worth it, the only "problem" is that in specification, it doesn't say that the 16 gb ram are 2x 8gb ram, so if you want to upgrade them to 32gb, you need 2x 16gb ram.

So the reviews are all true about this company. In my case, I bought the g713pv-ds91-ca 2023 laptop which clearly states "240Hz, GeForce RTX 4060, AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX" and non of those where true with the laptop I got being 70 somthing hx + 4050 rtx & 1080p monitor. no 2k monitor just regular 1080p. Pathetic. Returning this to buy from a more honest company.

Like most of my other laptop reviews. This one won't be much different. These are essentially models that were returned in the usa and fitted with random lower quality ram and storage as well as some generic MS Windows OS that isn't always activated, according toe MS. Not sure exactly Asus was thinking with the software install, however it's clear that they never tested anything and dumped them on Amazon Canada in the hopes that Canadians wouldn't complain. For the price even at 1800$+ shipping and taxes for a seriously crippled laptop is fraud. The equivalent Lenovo legion 7 16" 7945HX is far better and serviceable.
In the end when you see a laptop this new and with a top end CPU being claimed as "used" already, you should be suspicious Theses particular laptop cpus have barely been produced let alone the motherboards to run them and really the only available supplies for them are in the US an the UK.

I bought this laptop on boxing day from another vendor at a great sale price and I am thrilled with the purchase. All 4 USB ports are 3.0 or better. The screen looks beautiful! Colours just pop like crazy. 240 Hz refresh rate is amazing though it doesn't really matter to me. RTX 4060 video card is fine for my limited gaming use. Surprisingly, it is actually more powerful than my GTX-1080ti in my old media PC. I don't really care about ray tracing and 1440P looks fantastic. The Ryzen 9-7945HX CPU is actually the 7950X detuned for laptops - so a true 16 core monster with16 performance cores and 32 threads. Very generous 80MB total cache. The games I play tend to be older ones and I'm getting 250 to 300 frames per second. The built in AV1 decoder/encoder works brilliantly. I do a lot of 4K video coding and this really speeds things up. Full RGB keyboard with individual key settings is nice but I don't really care. This thing is about 10% to 15% slower than my 7950X PC which is amazing when you consider the CPU is limited to about 55W. The bios has a good amount of settings not usually seen in laptops, including Curve Optimizer! Right now I'm running -10 and that alone has brought the temps down about 5 degrees. The keys with included number pad work well and feel good. Very little flex on the surrounding frame. It has dual M.2 NVME slots for storage expansion. Yes, you can hear the fans when you're really working the computer but no worse (actually less) than many other laptops I've used over the years.
There's even a bit of lighting effects around the lower frame and the top of the lid. Not a fan of that so it doesn't matter to me.

My only real criticism is the low endurance 1TB QLC SSD it came with. I quickly replaced it with a high quality 4TB TLC unit. SSD's are dirt cheap these days so no need to settle for sub-par drives.
The 16GB RAM is pretty low by today's standards so I bumped that up to 32GB as well.
Those two upgrades made a significant difference and would have raised the price substantially if included at time of purchase.

Definitely recommended if you can use all the power and have the bucks.
I've had tons of laptops over the last 15 years and this one is head and shoulders above them all. Now I don't need to go and fire up my big rig for serious work as this one is just about as powerful while weighing about 6 Lbs. Amazing.
