If you’re familiar with Fujitsu Scansnaps, this is a cheap / bad version of it in both hardware and software.
It jams on most anything other than simple standard pages as others have reported. It seems to either jam prematurely (receipt taped onto a page), or too late (damages long receipts etc). It supports duplex scanning, but often ignores the page if it doesn’t have enough content. The rear input tray doesn’t fold in or lock solidly in place, and is easy to knock off. It scans quickly and smoothly like a Fujitsu—if it actually works. It certainly doesn’t work consistently enough for an > $400 scanner.
Its bundled software is far more stripped and basic than a real Fujitsu, often ignoring sides of pages with not enough content (apparently). A low tier Scansnap iX1300 designed for more portable use MASSIVELY outperformed this SP series scanner in identical conditions, and is priced similarly.
This product is essentially a Fujitsu desktop scanner in name only. It should be avoided by anyone other than those doing simple bulk scanning of single sided letter sized pages with very little need for processing, automation, or flexibility.
