The battery is great. The increased capacity compared to the older batteries used in my X-T3 is really nice. Amazon shipped quick, and I now have three of these to help get me through longer days of shooting on my X-T4. Regarding the dual-battery charger, I will be waiting until the 3rd party wall charger by Wasabi is available in Canada.
Quality: O.E.M. battery...made for the camera, like the one that came with the camera.
Battery life: works just the like the one that came with the camera. This battery has a better capacity than the previous Fujifilm mirrorless camera battery(NP-W126S) made for Fujifilm cameras before the X-T4 (examples: X-T2, X-H1, X-T3).
Price: Usually the O.E.M. NP-W235 battery retails for about CAD 100... I bought it when there was a price drop.
Bought the battery because I wanted a backup battery for my camera. Received it...was at first a bit worried that it might be a fake or old battery. Charged it up and tested in the camera(plus checked the battery life status function in camera)...legit.
Yah, $100 retail price for a camera battery seems steep especially if you have third party alternatives, but here are some of my opinions about it:
- you are paying for reliability and assurance that it works properly for your camera
-so far I haven't heard of the O.E.M. battery expanding or getting stuck in the battery port(heat management?)
-the previous Fujifilm mirrorless camera battery(NP-W126S) retailed for about the same price
-batteries for other electronics can be as or more expensive(example: power tools)
Top reviews from other countries
Yes, Fuji previously improved their battery with the advent of the X-H1 and a few other camera models by giving us the now-famous "S" battery, but that was simply a variant of their existing battery, the "126" model. We now have a NEW battery body, slightly larger in size, reshaped, and capable of producing a great deal more battery life than before. They did this, too, without making the battery excessively heavy, and dare I say it, they didn't jack the price up like they could have to incredibly high levels. This is a much better battery the the "S" in every way: shape, power, the fact that it fits into the camera in only one direction... it finally brings Fuji up to par and probably surpassing many other mirrorless cameras in the number of shots per charge. Five stars.
Note: It is unfortunate that some people are giving this battery a single star because of the lack of inclusion of a portable battery charger with the new X-H2 and X-T5. While I agree that this omission is outrageous and indefensible, it really isn't right to "one-star" the battery itself just because Fuji made this (terrible) decision. We are reviewing the BATTERY here, and such comments about the missing charger belong in the X-T4 reviews (where I discuss the issue). This is a really good battery. It's just that you'll have to buy the external battery charger separately.
On the CHARGER
Having acquired the charger, I can say that it is a nice design and feels well-built. An LCD display indicates the charging level for both batteries simultaneously since you can charge two batteries at the same time. The charger is designed not to plug into A/C mains, but is a USB-C type, so you need to get both a power adapter and a USB-C cable to attach the charger to the cable. In spite of the obvious quality of the device, Fuji has messed us up twice now, first by not including the charger with the new X-T5 to begin with, but then second, by selling the charger without either a cable or a power adapter. This is an obvious own-goal to Fuji users who love their cameras and the Fuji brand so much ... why offend us with such an obvious omission? And, if you need to charge ten dollars more to give us a cable a power adapter, then DO IT so that the user is not left shaken when opening the charger and wondering if pieces are missing from a previous buyer. It's a great charger and I'm glad to have it, but Fuji has really messed up here with the way they have handled the charger portion of what can only be called the best Fuji X camera to date, the Fuji X-T5.
I was lucky enough with a coupon to get this battery for $48.50. I think $50 is a good deal but anything more starts hurting the consumer's pocket. Either way, always invest in OEM batteries for safety and security.

There's no reason another company couldn't make a battery at least as good. It's just that the ones I've tried haven't been, and there's no reliable source of comparisons. So I'm done gambling.
I haven't had any catastrophic experiences (although they are certainly possible—batteries can swell and get jammed in the camera, they can catch on fire, etc.). The ones I've used just didn't hold much charge compared with the originals. And this is when they're new.
Don't be fooled by higher mAH ratings. They can be imaginary.
