This is probably the highest quality wide angle lens on the market today - the image quality is simply stunning.

A great range on the GFX system, incredible image quality, focuses fast enough, but the motor is not what you might call quiet. At all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow

Only a few days so far with this, but wow. For me the purpose of this lens is image quality. I don't often photograph fast action, so the AF speed is great for my purposes.

The IQ looks amazing, it definitely utilizes all my GFX 100s can record, and hopefully beyond it. Very fine and sharp. The in focus areas at 100% is just jaw dropping. Having f1.7 is interesting, still working out the low light needs of my subjects as their movements are what is determining shutter speed, not the lens or the camera. Which is great.

I look forward to using lens extensively.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding optics on GFX-100s

When I bought my GFX-100s I knew I wanted 2 lenses to start off with, the 110 f/2 and this, the 45mm 2.8. I knew from using my Nikon for years that I would prefer a lens equal to 35mm on full frame , than a 50 and this lens which is equivalent to a 36mm on full frame is a perfect, normal , lightweight walk around lens for the GFX 100s and it's amazing sensor. While not a small lens, filter size 62mm, it is amazingly light on the camera and with the in body (not in lens) stabilization can easily be handheld down to 1/6 of a second and if you brace yourself well and use burst mode, can get great results at even a 1/2 second. The detail and texture you can capture between this lens and the Fuji sensor are incredible and the ability to crop is amazing while still retaining every bit of detail. You should also know that 2.8 on a medium format sensor has a shallower depth of a field than 2.8 on a full frame camera. The exposures may be the same but the depth of field is not. This lens can also be used 2 ways, set the lens on "C" and set the aperture from the camera dials, or just move the aperture ring manually on the lens the way cameras of old did it. Combined with the GFX-100s, you will be taking photographs with stunning detail. I have been a full frame user for years, but this is amazing and worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Muy buen lente pero no buen vendedor
Reviewed in Mexico on February 17, 2023

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just macro
Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2021

Plus:
Although not svelte weighs less than the 110mm and the larger zoom.
Has OIS - big plus if you are using a non IBIS body
Internal focusing (length doesn't change when focus closer)
Smaller than some non-Fuji macros combines with adapter.
Very sharp but what did you expect.
AF seems to be accurate
Focal length is equivalent to FF 95mm so there is portraiture potential but see max aperture comment below

Cons:
Heavy, at least if you are used to the mid range lenses like 45mm or 63mm
AF is slow. Definitely not for sports. Setting the range limiter helps.
Is not 1x (1:1) at closest focus. Only 0.5x (1:2). There s an extension tube you can buy though.
Max aperture too small for dedicated/serious portrait photographers. For occasional use you can probably find a way.
The APS-C equivalent focal length is 60mm but if you are thinking that this is just the big bro to Fuji's APS-C 60mm macro - think again. Doubling focal length more than doubles size and weight.
