The Xbox Series X controllers do not fit with the provided battery cover therefore in order to charge your Xbox Series X controller you need to either take the battery packs out to charge or drill a hole in the plastic of the original controller cover so the battery contact can charge. A little frustrating that Microsoft would change the plastic holes ever so slightly and these are incompatible.

This is my second Fosman Xbox charger. My first one was the older style with 1000mA batteries. It lasted me 4 years with almost daily use and when the batteries finally died I didn’t hesitate to buy another Fosman. Was pleasantly surprised that the battery capacity of this new style has more than doubled. Using a head set plugged into my XBox One X controller I used to get one night of gaming out of the old batteries. With these new batteries I get 2 or 3 nights of gaming per battery. With four batteries you should never run out of juice. The old batteries were easier to swap out because the cover plate was built into the battery but I guess in order to get the extra capacity in the batteries they had to change the style. This set comes with two styles of cover plates - one for older XBox One series controllers and the other for the new smaller Series X controllers. You can charge two batteries and two controllers with batteries at the same time, despite someone else saying you can’t. Overall, I feel this is very good value for the money.

I never have to fiddle with the controllers to get them to charge, I just place and walk away. No lining anything up or trying to get a connector to fit. Note only gravity is holding your controller in position if you lean something against controller while in dock it will misalign with the contacts and not charge. This is a personal problem and not a design issue.

I do like the over all design of being able to charge 4 batteries at once, and the stand seems to be fairly well made. But there are a couple issues, firstly the battery life is far less than I expected, second the quality to the finish of the batteries is very sub par. I have also noticed even with a full charge the Xbox does not recognize a full charge, even after a full days charge the Console only seems to recognize it as being about a 3/4 charge. Still better than single use AA batteries if nothing else.

I did a ton of research looking for an XBOX charging station. My biggest worry was that the batteries wouldn't last (both in terms of holding a charge as well as lifetime durability). It's too early to comment on the lifetime value but "holding a charge" is exactly as advertised. They are low-profile, I have them charging out of an XBOX USB port and I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. The added value with this purchase is that I bought this when I had and XB1 and now, with an XB Series X, I can still use the charger and batteries because it ships with both battery covers!

TLDR; It works as advertised and charges quickly. I would recommend this as a replacement for disposable batteries and plug-in battery packs.

FR; I was a bit hesitant to purchase this item since the majority of the controller docks look and feel cheaply made, yet, I am pleasantly surprised with this one.

I've been using expensive disposable batteries or plug-in battery packs(like the "YCCTEAM Controller Battery Pack" I purchased last year), yet, these never last as long as represented and charge terribly slow. I decided to pick up a controller dock so I wouldn't have to constantly plug up and switch the battery packs every eight or so hours and could just set it and forget it.

What you get -
In the box, you get the controller dock, two battery packs, four controller backplates(2 for XBO and 2 XBOSX/S marked on the inside, so you know which to use with your XBO controller type), one USB micro-b cable(about 4ft long), and an instructions/usage sheet.

Design and feel -
The dock isn't a masterpiece as far as design and feel(but, honestly that isn't really the point of it), yet, this dock should sit nicely(if your setup allows) next to your console in any room and not stand out very much, if at all.

If you are looking for a better-looking design, you may want to go with the PowerA Dual Charging Station for Xbox, but the batteries aren't as good, and it requires its own power supply/outlet.

There is a slight wiggle/looseness since the controllers simply sit against the three-prong connectors on the dock, yet for mine, the wiggle isn't very noticeable unless bumped hard and really doesn't take away from anything.

Connection type -
The charging dock is powered by a USB micro-b cable and can be plugged into any standard USB-A/3.0 port, so it can be connected directly to the console or any available USB port(I have mine plugged into my desk lamp USB port).

You connect the controllers to the dock by placing the battery pack into the controller(this can be tricky due to the way it slides in), put on the correct backplate, then set it on the dock against the 3 prongs sticking up from each controller slot.

When connected, the charging dock will blink a green light on the front when charging and shows a solid green light when the battery packs are fully charged. I did a feel test on the dock after leaving it plugged in with a controller connected, and there is no kind of heat coming from it or showing any signs of overcharging.

Battery Life -
When I received the package, I connected the battery packs into my controller to see if they had a charge, the controllers turned right on, and the Xbox Menu showed them as fully charged. I didn't need to use them right away, so I connected them to the controller dock overnight.

The packaging and Amazon page says up to 40 hours of usage, but I have not charged my primary controller pack once since the initial charge, and I received the dock on July 12th. I game about 8 hours a day and tend to leave my controller on until it powers itself off(when it decides to power off). Currently, the Xbox Menu is showing I still have about an 80 to 85% charge(initial full charge) on the battery pack after just about 30 hours of usage.

Final thoughts -
I'm pleasantly surprised with the battery packs and very happy with purchasing the controller dock. I would highly recommend this to others looking to move away from disposable batteries or battery packs they are constantly charging.
