I've been looking at similar nets for my canoe and this was the cheapest. The mechanism is identical to the more expensive ones I see in stores so figured why not.It's very light and packs down really small. Perfect for canoes, kayaks or stuffing into a backpack. It has a belt clip so you can keep it on you when shore fishing.I don't know why but I was expecting it to have a rubber net (must've confused it for another one I was looking at). It's actually a woven fiber. The holes are small and I expect my hooks to get snagged in them but that's fine. My fault for not knowing what I was ordering.The handle has a decent texture and feels like it should have grip when wet.The folding mechanism works really well. You can quickly deploy it one-handed. It's plastic so I don't know how long it'll last but for the price I don't mind. If this lasts me a few seasons then I'll be satisfied.

Your not going to land a trophy fish with it but for smaller fish it's enough to do the trick lightweight and portable I'm happy to have it along. Velcro strap to fasten it when closed or a bag would be a bonus as well as maybe a wrist lanyard.

We bought this fishing net, not to use for fishing, per se, but to use on the tennis court to "fish" for tennis balls. Our assistant coach uses this pick up balls when our team uses a hopper, which allows for many balls to be on the ground. It eases bending over to pick up balls. And he can actually "catch" balls in the air as he moves. It collapses easily which allows for easy storage in his car. Much better than the regular net he used to use.
