Awful controller. Buttons stick. Poorly calibrated sticks. Horrible controller shape. Feels like a 3D Printed nightmare. It's EXTREMELY transparent what the company is trying to do. Instead of taking a loss on this embarrassing failure of a product and throwing them out, they're trying to pawn them off on people who don't know any better. The Vader 3 Pro fixes *EVERY SINGLE ISSUE* this product has, but they're just, I dunno, refusing to sell it on Amazon? I guess that way they can sell their runoff of the Vader 2 Pro (Why do you still have so many Vader 2's? Is it because the controller SUCKS????) before they decide to actually sell their latest product. Thumbs down. Awful product, worse business acumen.

When I pay a premium price for a controller, I want ease of use and build quality. I think this controller succeeds at the latter but not the former. It is very comfortable to hold, with a good vibration motor that creates a steady, solid vibration rather than a thready "it's gonna fly apart" sort of rumble. The buttons are on the clicky side (as opposed to mushy) but that's a matter of preference. The analog sticks have a good action and feel on the thumb. I don't particularly like extra buttons, because they often are pressed accidentally. But your mileage may vary, and errant presses didn't seem to interrupt any games.

My main beef with this controller are the instructions and pairing methods. I tried my best to get this to connect to my Windows 10 and 11 PCs via Bluetooth, but the computers recognized it as a (non functioning) mouse. Instead, the USB-A dongle is required to connect the controller wirelessly. That can be kind of an issue, since you may have limited USB ports and/or ports in the newer USB/C configuration. When the dongle is installed, the controller connects and is lag-free. I played racing, fighting, and arcade games, and lost no accuracy over a wired controller. This controller can also be used wired with the included USB-C to A cable.

The pairing buttons on the controller are very confusing, requiring multiple simultaneous button presses, and the diagram on back is in Chinese, literally. Why there couldn't be a single pairing button is beyond me.

Overall, while this is a good controller, I recommend buying something directly from Microsoft in the non-budget controller category. You'll get equal or better build, better connectivity, better documentation, and a lower price.

I'll say it up front: don't buy this controller.

Out of the box, it claims to have re-mappable buttons, and that is technically true... as long as all you want to re-map are different configurations of the standard Xbox controller setup. The software claims that you can create macros for different button presses, but I've never once been able to get the software to actually recognize that buttons are being pressed. It has made zero difference if I have the controller wired, 2.4, or in Android mode.

In FACT, the only way I was able to get any kind of useful functionality out of this controller was by purchasing a third party re-map software that would actually allow me to set up button configurations on the controller that acted as virtual key presses on the keyboard, and even THAT setup has gotten so frustrating to use that I've gone back to using a standard Xbox controller. The Vader refuses to stay connected when wireless, and if it IS connected, it constantly disconnects for a second or two, and then re-connects. This wouldn't be a significant issue on, say, a pair of Bluetooth earbuds; annoying, but not impossible to live with. The significant problem with the controller doing this is that it forces me to change my game settings every single time it happens, because the controller being connected does not mean that it is able to be recognized as connected by the games I play.

Further, the rechargeable battery in this controller has rapidly become relatively useless. When I first started using this controller, it regularly would last 6-8 hours after charging for a couple hours; now, it rarely lasts longer than two hours.
