I was very tired of the ROKU TV interface and a good friend of mine told me that I could override the interface simply by getting myself a Fire TV Stick and plugged it into the HDMI on my tv !! So I ordered it and I am so glad I did because now I can browse my Roku TV just like if it was a Fire TV !! That's FANTASTIC !!

Got rid of my old first gen Apple TV box for this, as it was on sale for $34, and the Apple was pretty obsolete and glitching.
Easy to set up (though a LOT of logging in for every app you download), and I like that I can choose which apps I have, unlike Apple TV which just shovels a set of apps at you, regardless of if you like it or not.
The most difficult login/setup app was Apple TV itself. I want access to my Apple movies/TV shows that I've purchased, but Apple has made it as difficult as possible to login and make that app work, which isn't shocking considering the long-standing feud between Amazon & Apple.
Other than that, I absolutely love the fire. Even though it's lite, it packs a lot. I mean, for $40 after taxes, I got the use of my TV back, including streaming music. Disney Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Red Bull -- my faves (well, not Netflix - I rarely sub to it, but it's there to get if I want it), all work wonderfully and stream far better than what I was doing, which was having my old laptop hooked up to my TV via HDMI.
Some people in reviews have complained that you have to plug the Fire in. What did you expect? To have it run on good feelings? Yes, it needs to be plugged in, but the charge lasts a long time. I just keep it plugged in, works just fine. Awesome solution for someone like me who is on a very tight budget.
