Operationally, this drive is fine. Only thing is that the drive had 150 hrs already on it and power cycled already 6 times before I did the 7th cycle to pull SMART data first thing once received. For the price, I don't mind.

I cloned the original data from the internal disk which took about 2 hours using Foxclone. I made sure that it works by booting the old MacBook using "option" and selecting the SSD disk plugged into a USB port. All OK. It took me about an hour to physically swap the drives due to the fact that I have arthritic fingers and are 82% of a century old.
It took its usuall 2 minute boot up but once done, the access speed compared to the original one is at least 5 times faster. Also the laptop runs cooler. I am glad pI did it. Oh, one more thing: the macbook has linux on it because Apple no longer supports the original operating system...
