This is a perfect full-size, 88-key keyboard for beginners and intermediate to advanced players who just need something portable to practice on.
It has semi-weighted keys so it doesn't feel like a real piano, but has just enough resistance to feel similar. It is also pressure sensitive, so the harder you push the keys, the louder the sound.
It has so many different tones and rhythms that I haven't tried even a fraction yet.
It obviously doesn't sound like a full-size piano, but it does have decent sound coming out of two relatively small speakers. It comes with a small headset that is not very good, but when I use my own headphones it sounds great. I haven't tried hooking up to an external speaker so it may sound better than with just the small enclosed speakers.
I consider myself an advanced beginner, having taken beginning piano courses at the local community college, and now I can learn and practice here at home without the expense and space requirement of a "real" piano.
I do have a keyboard stand, but I am taking lessons online and it is easier to set the keyboard on my desk so I can see my computer monitor right in front of me. You can see my setup in the attached photo.
With the MIDI hookup, I can connect the keyboard to my computer and get instant feedback from my online program.
This unit has a Bluetooth connection for importing streaming music from any Bluetooth-capable source. I have backing tracks on my iPad and iPhone, and I play them through the Bluetooth connection and play along with the accompaniment.
All-in-all, this is an excellent low-cost keyboard that is very useful for a wide variety of users. I expect to get very good use out of it for a very long time.
EDIT: After a full month of playing this keyboard every day, I am still very impressed with the keyboard. It is very, very good for a beginning or intermediate piano student. However, I have to state that the music holder is very poorly designed and will not hold single 8.5" x 11" sheets of music, and a music book just slides off the lower ledge and onto the keyboard itself. I am currently looking for a replacement since it is really a hassle trying to read music when the music either bends back over the top of the stand or slides down onto the keyboard. If I can't find a suitable replacement I will have to jury-rig one myself. Other than this, I still love this keyboard.
