I am writing this review more than 3 months after the purchase, after enjoying the product properly. My dream was always to have a record player and listen to my favorite records without going online ("I'm tired of using technologyyyy!"). And one day, I moved into a new place and bought a vinyl+CD player that turned out to be too bulky which I returned, then a record player that turned out to be too toyish which i returned, then i turned to Amazon, read the customer reviews carefully and found this record player right here: perfection.THE DESIGN:I picked the light brown wood one, it is stylish, small, the transparent plastic lid is solid and makes the wood part more visible, its beauty is never hidden and its fits my boho decor very well. The lid stays up by itself, no risk to fall.THE SOUND:I'm not a sound expert, but I love the sound! That old sound effect that people tend to complain about, i love it. It's the vinyl sound for me and i'm here for it! I also have a CD player, but ever since i bout this vinyl player, I stopped listening to CDs. The sound is not the same. The music coming out of this vinyl player always sounds quite... round. Out of a phone: flat. You know what i mean? I got this after being interested in a record player for a while.

I did minimal research and thought what the heck, it should service as a good starter record player. It also has 4.2 stars, hey, that's alright!

Upon immediately opening it, it looked the part, but my opinion quickly changed when I started playing my first record.

1. The sound is just okay, absolutely no base on it.
2. The worst is that the 1st songs/outer songs constantly skip.

I thought at first that I had a faulty unit since the unit was all self contained and there was nothing I could change on the device to play any different.

So I started researching...and turns out this plastic POS is some $10 piece of junk any one can buy from China. Go ahead and search record player here, you'll see pages and pages with the same plastic platter with shiny metal arm and a red cartridge. They're all the same just dressed differently. STAY AWAY FROM THEM ALL.

To save yall time and money, I did a deep dive and researched a GOOD beginner turntable that has future upgrade potential. Fluance is where it's at, better than AT at the same price point and canadian made.

I purchased this 4 weeks ago as my first record player and blindly purchased it since it had 4.2 stars review. However, after receiving it and noticing the issue with the uneven turntable and looking at the 1-star reviews, I have the same issue as other people. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT unless you just want it as a show piece. The turntable doesn't even turn evenly and it results in skipping every 4-5 seconds. I am returning this product asap.

For 65$, the speaker isn't too bad, good volume but there's no bass whatsoever. But again for 65$ speakers won't be that great...

EDIT FROM 1-STAR REVIEW: I contacted customer service and they have happily decided to provide me a new turntable free of cost after I returned the first turntable. Customer service was quick to reply (within 24hrs). The second turntable was much better than the first one but not perfect since there was still some skipping nowhere as much as the first one.

I am sending a 3-star review solely because customer service was excellent and the second turntable was acceptable in terms of quality.
