Instruction

1. Turn off the keyboard & any other musical instrument. Close the Audio software.
2. IN cable to Output, Out Cable to Input. They are reversed. Connect USB cable to computer.
3. Adjust the keyboard to MIDI mode.
4. Turn on the keyboard & MIDI device.
5. Open your software, find MIDI options menu, choose the device named [MIDI USB] as input and output.

Im using a Casio PX-555R Keyboard with Windows 10 and Abletone 10. If you're having some trouble getting a midi signal after the device is displayed in your DAW, try reversing the IN an OUT midi cables.

The midi keyboard (Roland PC-200 mk2) that I own doesn't have two midi ports so my use case might not be applicable however, when plugging in the "MIDI IN connector into the midi output of my keyboard, I don't get any blue light activity yet I see that my computer recognizes the adapter.

Again, if this is an issue with the keyboard and/or LMMS than disregard this review, however Im leaning towards either an adapter that doesn't work without both midi conectors plugged, or just a driver issue

Ich habe das Kabel erworben um mein altes Korg Piano an den Mac Mini anzuschließen. Einstöpseln und läuft.

Kritik

Punktabzug gibt es für zwei nervig blinkende LEDs. Da gäbe es viel dezentere Lösungen. Ich könnte auch ganz darauf verzichten. Wichtig ist, dass die Verbindung automatisch und zuverlässig steht, wenn beide Geräte eingeschaltet sind. Das ist der Fall.

Eine Designpreis gewinnt das Kabel auch nicht. Abgesehen vom Logo hat sich der Hersteller da wohl keinerlei Gedanken gemacht. Das mag dem einen egal sein, für den anderen spielt die Ästhetik bei Musikinstrumenten eine Rolle beim kreativen Schaffensprozess.

Fazit

Ich würde in meinem nächsten Leben fünf Euro mehr ausgeben und auf ein Kabel kaufen, das mit Gewebe ummantelt ist und vielleicht auch etwas dickere Kupferkerne besitzt.
