How to activate this SIM card is clearly explained. Upon arrival at Hong Kong airport i put this SIM card into my iPhone 13 and turn on the phone. It was that easy!! I got my access to wifi and internet. For those who are not electronic expert like me, your phone does not work as it is in Canada. Only e-mail instead of texting and call through Face time whats up etc work instead normal phone call. Internet access was smooth, but you have to have an access to WiFi (airport, hotel, coffee shop etc).I bought a 15 day card for 10 day travel to China and Japan. It worked without any trouble only if I had a WiFi access in HongKong, Putian and Xiamen in China and Tokyo, Japan. In China WiFi access is limited at Hotel, Airports and train stations, but in Japan there are many access spots (MacDonald is my preferred place because there are power outlets and wifi access).

This worked great in China (June 2024). I purchased the 5 GB / 30-day serivce. I used it in both Hubei province (central (ish) China) and Jilin province (northeast China). The sim was installed on a modern Samsung phone running Android 14. It worked immediately upon install and lasted the whole 30 days. The only small quirk was having to reboot the phone when I turned off the data service. It would not reconnect without a reboot. This only occurred in the northeast. The data service was surprisingly good.

I was able to get RCS texting (texting over wifi/data) working just fine when installing my regular phone sim in slot 1 (set as default for calls and texts) and setting the China Data sim in slot 2 and setting it as default for data. Everywhere I went, RCS texting was blocked when using wifi in China, so the mentioned solution with China Data allowed for RCS texting.

China Data service does install a small admin app, but Norton did not see it as malware.

Did not work for me. And this is the second time I've tried a pre-purchased SIM. I bought this one for our recent trip to Germany, Denmark & Norway. It was supposed to be "plug n play" and immediate activation. The SIM swap was straight forward and the phone seemed to get cell service (I got a UK spam text within 10 minutes) but the phone could not find or connect to the cell provider's Internet service. I tried many things for 2 days, then I gave up, swapped back to my Canadian SIM and paid the international roaming charges ($15/day). All worked fine from then on.

Next time I might try buying a local SIM at the destination airport and see how that works.

The Korea 10 day card worked perfectly for the 3 days I was there. The Japan 7 day took all the troubleshooting plus manually adding the APN to get working, and then randomly stopped working a few times for periods of time - one of those would have left me stranded since it happened while trying to catch a train back to the hotel except luckily I had the wifi info of a nearby business I could get to and stand infront of to get internet again. Tech support was slow to respond at times (~2.5 hours).

This sim card works well in most EU countries. But we specifically bought it because the map/picture description showed that it covered the Balkan area which it actually did not. We tried everything we could in Serbia and Bosnia including calling customer service for help. We were told it was reported to the technical support team and they would email us with the solution. We never received any response whatsoever. There was 0 signal from this SIM card in the Balkans so we had to buy another card which completely missed the point why we chose to purchase this card. Disappointed
