I bought this Ogori 50W solar charger to recharge my Jackery Explorer 100 Plus and other Portable Power Stations and devices. Here's my honest assessment:

Power Output:
While the manufacturer claims 50W, I observed a maximum of 34W under ideal sunny conditions. This is still fast charging, but slower for larger power stations.

Device Charging:
The USB-C and USB-A ports are fantastic for directly charging phones, tablets, and power banks.
Fast charging works well on bright days with devices supporting Quick Charge or Adaptive Charging. Expect 5W or 10W on cloudy days, which is slower but still functional.

Portability and Design:
- Folds up compactly, making it perfect for travel and fitting in a midsize backpack.
- The build quality feels solid.
- A built-in kickstand would be a great addition to improve standalone usability in sunlight.

Accessories:
The included multiple connectors and accessories are a plus for connecting various devices.
A longer cable would be a nice improvement.

Overall:
This is a good solar charger, especially for directly charging devices and smaller power banks. While the 50W claim isn't quite met, 34W is still a decent output. If you're looking for a travel-friendly solar charger for your gadgets, this is a solid option. However, it might not be ideal for quickly recharging larger power stations.

This review is for the Ogori 50 Watt Solar Charger. It is a very compact solar charger that folds up to a very small 16"x8.75"x1.5"' so it can be pretty much taken anywhere. Easy to pack on a camping trip, a hike, or a picnic. It’s weight is just under 2 kg. There are 4 separate solar panels wired together to produce a maximum power output of 50 Watts, as can be seen in the photo in which I tested it with a solar panel checker. The manufacturer claims an exceptional 24% efficiciency of the panels themselves. This unit should not be left in the rain because it will be damaged. It is rated IPX4 waterproof which means it can survive splashes from a pool or shower. The included written instructions states "This charger is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to water, rain, and moist environments."
Built into the back of the panels is a zippered pouch where you can find a dc power cable with 8 adapters, 2 carabingers for hanging the panels if desired, and a USB charger. This charger has a rubber plug to protect the sockets from damage by dirt, sand, and moisture. This charger has 1 USB-A socket providing QC 3.0 output, 1 USB-C socket providing PD 3.0 30 Watt output, and a barrel plug socket to attach the DC charging cord. The open circuit voltage on this barrel plug showed anywhere between 20-22.5 volts in my experience. The 8 adapters fit on the end of the cable to hopefully match the device you are wishing to charge.
To use it, simply unfold the unit and place it in direct sunlight. The more perpendicular to the sun, the higher will be the output. Avoid shading any of the panels as it will reduce power output. Plug in your USB charged device with the appropriate cable, and that is it! It works great and I was able to fast charge my phone using a USB-C charging cable. Even in shade, it was putting out enough juice to charge my phone, but at a much smaller rate. What really impressed me was it actually managed to put out 50 watts as stated. I have often seen solar panels fall short of their stated capacity. NOT in this case. The case has a rubber handle sewn on which makes it easy to securely carry it. You wouldn't want to drop it because it is likely the panels themselves could shatter. It comes with a 1 year warranty. To me, it seems like a good quality product.

🔎 Overview 🔍

If you're looking for a solar charger to charge your devices, this is a decent one for your phone however it should only be used in emergency situations where you don't have a backup battery laying around. This solar adapter would be great for camping trips as it is somewhat portable but overall still very bulky. It charges well only in direct sunlight and even then it is somewhat slow and will be fairly hot to the touch. The good thing about this charging set is that it has various adapters. I think it would be good to use to charge up portable batteries on camping trips.

✅ Pros ✅

- Charges devices in direct sunlight
- Many adapters for various devices
- Four large solar panels to capture sunlight

❌ Cons ❌

- Only works well in direct sunlight

This large portable 4 solar panels that folds up conveniently into a carrying case that will even fit into your backpack & light enough to be carried anywhere! The carry case is made of tough and thick nylon material that feels like that it will withstand a lot of uses - I really like how it comes with a plastic wrapped handle & also an attached zippered case in the back where the charging ports & cable accessories can be stored as well!
It was noted that is listed as a 50W charger with a 24% solar conversion rate and quick charging phones & tablets was a snap! I did try to charge my 45W notebook with it, but it was charging much slower than normal even under full sunlight but it did work! But note that because while this is under direct sunlight, the panel & carry case will get very hot & it's important that you keep the device you're charging in the shade!
Summary, this is a pretty good portable solar charger that would be useful when you're camping or need to charge in an emergency. Everything you need is all included and you just have to add the sunlight!

This panel is great to charge all your small electronics. I'm kind of a solar geek and like to charge as much as can from the sun. To me, there's something really cool about being able to harness electricity from the sky to keep those little devices we love alive. This little panel works great! Unfolded from it's little portable package yields a large enough panel to charge all my small electronic devices. In full sun and at the right angle, it even worked to provide my laptop with power.

I first plugged my Pixel phone into the this panel, and it indicated that it was charging as soon as I put the panel in the sun. Next I tried a battery bank and it indicated it was charging right away. Finally, I tried my laptop. Initially, the laptop didn't show that it was charging, but when the sun was fully out without any cloud cover, I did see the charging icon on my laptop when I angled the panel just right to the sun. It's not the ideal charger for many laptops, but my tests showed that I can keep my lappy alive when I have no other power source. This is a great panel for camping or other activities where a reliable power source is not available, but you want to keep your small electronic devices fully charged. I really like this panel!

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent portable solar panel

This small solar panel seems well made. It folds out into a 4-panel array with a small charge controller in a zippered pocket on the back. Included in the pocket is a charging cord with various tips that can be used to charge different power stations or other devices. There is also a USB A and USB C charging port. All of this is pretty standard for this type of solar panel.

A nice feature not found on the other 3 small foldable panels I have is the little carry handle. This makes it easier to grab and carry from place to place as opposed to the other ones I have that lack a handle. It doesn't seem like much but it actually makes using it noticeably more convenient.

I tested the output on a 90F cloudless sunny day at about 4pm in the afternoon. I plugged a USB C cable into a power bank that shows the charging current and the other end the USB C port on the back of the. solar panel. I angled it in various positions until I found the angle that produced the most charging current according to my power bank readout.

I was able to get 28.2W, 2.3A, and 12V at peak power. This isn't too bad for a 50W panel, though I'd have liked to see above 40W instead of below 30W. Of course if I tested it at 1pm instead of 4pm I might be able to get a bit more power out of it. But this test seems close to real life usage. I think I should be able to sustain this level of charging output for 5-6 hours per day on a sunny day.

Interestingly, I also tried using the USB A port and was only able to get 10.4W, 2.1A, and 4.9V through this port.

Finally, I tried using 2 power banks simultaneously that both give power input readings. The combined wattage still only totaled about 30W. It appears that 30W is the solid real-world performance wattage output for this panel. Overall it's a great little panel if 30W output fits your needs.

Well overall it seems to work pretty good. Have on been able to use it maybe twice now. Came well packaged and seemed good build quality until today when one of the protective coverings for the hole for hanging or holding the unit. It's not the end of the world but it really hasn't seen much action yet. I was going to use it to maintain my trolling motor battery on my fishing kayak. So time will tell how outdoor friendly this is. It does seem to charge very well though. I would have given 4 stars if the grommet hadn't fallen out.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great portable folding panel that outputs 50W+

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I love this panel-- it's a great price, built well, comes with attachments, and puts out the wattage that it's rated for. I measured the open voltage and current at 20.3V 2.85A under full sun, putting out 57.9W. I use this with portable battery "generators", to keep them topped off when camping or working in the yard. This comes with a full set of power plug adapters, and even carabiners. Other folding panels I've bought don't come with accessories of any kind.

You can use this to charge your phone, but it's severe overkill, since you only need about 10-15W to charge a normal phone reasonably quickly, so why carry around such a huge panel.
