About this item
- ♫ SMART AUDIO ELECTRIC GUITAR - The biggest feature of this electric guitar is the onboard speaker, which opens endless sonic possibilities. The 10-watt output power is perfect for practice and small acoustic jam sessions. Meanwhile, we can load presets and effects and have them amplified through the speaker. The wireless connectivity facilitates backing track playbacks. With the guitar, effects, and speaker, it's like we've built the entire rig into one piece of instrument.
- ♫ THE PICKUP - We've chosen an Alnico 2 magnet for the neck humbucker and an Alnico 5 for the bridge. This classic electric guitarra pickup duo delivers a combo of vintage, dynamic, and powerful tonal characteristics, which would complement various genres of music perfectly. The push-pull volume knob allows you to switch the coil configuration of the neck pickup from serial to parallel, allowing you to have that classic, chimney 'In-Between' sound of Strat electric guitars.
- ♫ THE PRESETS - The Nova Go Sonic electric guitar comes with 4 onboard presets: Clean, Overdrive, Crunch, and Lead. Each preset is customizable through the ENYA MUSIC APP. These 4 presets can be amplified by the onboard speaker. Meanwhile, they can also be accessed, when the guitar is plugged into an amp or PA. It's like we've built an effects processor into the guitar. Think about how much convenience it will bring to small performance and busking gigs.
- ♫ THE CONNECTIVITIES - The connectivities of Nova Go Sonic are perfect for practice sessions. The wireless connectivity allows you to play backing tracks through the speaker. The 3.5mm jack is a headphone output, which is essential for silent practice. The USB Type-C jack is for charging and OTG recordings. Everything played on the guitar, including the backing track can be recorded into an external device through the OTG function.
- ♫ THE CONSTRUCTION - This guitar is built with carbon fiber composite material, which is durable under different conditions. Meanwhile, the body of the guitar is integrated die-casting in one piece, which enhances the holistic resonance. The neck profile is asymmetrical for the optimum hand feel throughout the neck, whether holding down chords in the lower register or shredding in the higher frets. Zero-fret, round end fret polishing and ergonomic contour are must-haves for all our guitars.

But the party gimmick, built-in modeler and tuner, is AWESOME!
Don't get me wrong - this will *not* replace dedicated pedals and amps. The modeller is very basic, and the effects don't sound great; reverb is fine-ish, distortion and drive are OK, delay is meh at best. The speaker can resonate at certain frequencies and feedbacks like crazy. Overall, it doesn't exactly sound like professional setup :-)
But who cares! That's not what it's for! What it's for is that you can take this guitar outside of your studio, pick it up on the couch, bedroom, porch, park, cottage, picnic, backyard, *wherever*, and play an electric guitar without any other bits and pieces and cables and power and headphones and so on. It is LIBERATING and an absolute joy to play.
If you're experienced, this will not replace your setup even a little bit, but it's a great addition with great freedom of movement.
If you're a beginner, I honestly think this is not a bad way to start. As an electric guitar, it's perfectly fine, so the built-in modeller and speaker are just a very nice convenient extra bonus, and it WILL encourage you to play and learn :)
Still not sure if I would recommend it but for the price why not. If you are saving to buy an electric guitar and money is tight, Buy something else for sure. Delivery was also a nightmare and I had to pay UPS because the seller didn’t pay them.

5-stars, a no brainer of a purchase.
I think Enya knocked it out of the park with their all carbon X4 Acoustic guitar (I paid $799 for that instrument, would gladly pay it again despite the price actually coming down since then!). I bought the NEXG and was really disappointed with it, but decided to give this Nova Go Sonic a try anyway. I am really impressed and can wholeheartedly recommend it to solid electric players for an upgrade to your wooden instrument collection without breaking the bank. I don’t think you will regret it.
Pros:
*Great shape, smooth matte finish, stealthy/classy look and feel
*Light weight
*Great neck, very smooth, low action, access to high frets is amazing
*Great rounded smooth frets
*Quality AlNiCo pickups, clear, quiet, balanced and unique neck and bridge tones; Series/parallel switching maintains humbucking and cuts output like coil tap
*Quality switches and potentiometer
*Feels and plays like a $1000+ instrument at a fraction the cost; remarkable value
*Built-in amp with speaker and various effects makes practice super easy and fun
*Some of the built-in OD effects play just like the venerable Sustainiac (again at a fraction the cost)
*I expect this instrument to last forever despite typical storage/jostling/bumping/playing/general use.
*It really sounds great amplified, not unlike other of my quality H-H solid body guitars (again, at a fraction the cost).
Cons:
*Wish it had never-wear stainless frets for this otherwise very well-appointed instrument
*While most of the effects are interesting and fun, some of the built-in effects are either dull or too harsh (but they are all customizable in the app, pretty fun to mess with for practice, and it is not necessary to use these when plugged into your amp, it plays it like a standard double humbucker solid guitar when ‘OFF’). I don’t think the effects could replace quality pedals or external DSP effects, but it is not priced to do this.
*Neck is a little bit flexible for composite (like my wood instruments, I can flex the neck fore/aft to get flat/sharp tones, which I wouldn’t expect from carbon), but I’m sure it is stronger than any wood, and the truss rod adds additional strength and adjustment. Obviously there is no scarf joint (or any joint for that matter) to fail.
Short video of my 13 year-old doing his classical guitar stuff on this Enya just to demonstrate the low action and clean tones. Amazon made me compress and reduce quality due to size, but the audio gets the point across. The amp is dry, all effects are coming from the guitar onboard effects.

I have found the Sonic to be extremely comfortable to play. I am absolutely loving the playability of this guitar. The Sonic compares favorably with my favorite Strat in this regard. The weight is negligible, yet enough to feel solid. The neck is so smooth. The neck has a flatter profile similar to ones I have played in the Fender Ultra series with the wonderful neck heel. The black carbon fiber finish presents an aesthetic I love. The fit-and-finish are near flawless to my eye.
This guitar represents a great value to the modern musician. On-board digital effects with customizable parameters and a built-in 10-watt speaker with blue-tooth phone app control and customization make this a formidable little axe. I have not scratched the surface of editable presets yet, although I have spent alot of time working between presets and the wonderful tonal options presented by the two humbuckers and a push-pull for coil configuration (something I have always desired).
Many of the features I have wanted (found in the expensive Fender Ultra series) are present here. I am obviously more of a Fender guy, although I own a Les Paul upon which the Sonic body style is based. I also have a PRS guitar which is a dual humbucker.
I think this guitar could be an incredible tool for the performing musician. Conceivably one need not necessarily lug about all manner of pedalboards, etc. I cannot attest to this in practice, but I intend to check it out. I have taken my other Enya instruments on trips with me and the portability and accessibility of Enya gear makes a trip to the mountains magical. A little down time, even in the car, becomes a musical adventure. I believe the Enya Nova Go Sonic is also a songwriters dream - a self-contained, portable instrument with myriad sonic options to explore and OTG recording.
Is this a multi-grand ultra/elite guitar, or a Les Paul? You be the judge. Does it need to be? Are you looking for a quality musical tool at a good price? Can I throw my Strat or LP into the backseat and head to the mountains? Sorta. I guess.
Conceptually, the marriage of instrument and sound-processing capabilities in one “sports car” package at a value price is a likely game-changer in the way musicians like myself go after their craft. Welcome to the Sonic Age…

![](https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/S/amazon-avatars-global/default._CR0,0,1024,1024_SX48_.png)
I picked this up as a living-room guitar due to being able to play without having to hook up any cables or anything. It just hangs on the wall and rocks when it's time to rock. For that, it's excellent. I'd previously purchased one of the little acoustic numbers (Nova Go 1/2 size) and been very impressed with the sound and playability in the small form factor. This guitar is just as playable but the proportions are pretty normal for an electric. It is surprisingly light overall and not neck-heavy like my more conventional wooden electric guitars. The fretboard is flat and the frets are extremely well-dressed. Since it's cast, the neck is exactly as flat and level as it was in the factory when you open the box which when getting a guitar you can't play-test first is a huge bonus. It comes with a case but no strap, so get one of those too.
The built in effects and speaker work how I expected them to. The speaker output isn't as good as you get out of a discrete amplifier, but that wasn't the point and I wasn't expecting it to be. You can jack it into an amplifier and the sound there is very good for stock electronics under a grand. It has four onboard "patches" that you can switch between by clicking a knob on the front. They're totally serviceable and can be adjusted using the app, which I'll get to talking about in more detail. It has an internal battery and is USB charged so everything you need to go out into the forest and scream at the squirrels is onboard. It gets louder than I need it to be for noodling in my living room. It's probably loud enough for busking or open-mic on it's own if you don't have to beat a drum kit or anything. It came with light strings on it and once stretched they stay in tune well so the tuning machines are at least decent.
One of the main advantages of the acoustic when I was shopping for it was being made entirely out of carbon fiber and steel, which makes it more resistant to abuse like big temperature fluctuations and moisture or whacking it into things accidentally. This one is also made of carbon fiber (mostly, there's likely some plastic in there) but with the electronics I would think twice about leaving this one outside while camping or in my car overnight. I expect it to be just as resistant to things like dings and scratches.
As for negative points, there aren't too many. The whole guitar resonates like crazy with the open low E string when playing though the speaker, especially with any kind of drive. It's not really an issue through an amp and I can work around it mostly by keeping the string muted when I'm not using it, but it might be more annoying for someone just learning how to play. It is much less pronounced with the "clean"-ish settings. The truss rod adjustment is done with a special tool, which will only be annoying if I lose it but when it's just a standard Allen wrench it's pretty easy to replace. I'll cross that bridge if I have to I suppose.
My least favorite thing is the app. It requires extremely invasive permissions to use plus signing up for an account with a verified email address and doesn't really have a ton of functionality to justify these things. Each patch has a combination of the five or six "modules" that you can swap around and adjust which lets you create some different effects to mess with. I'm not going to keep it installed though as for living-room noodling the four defaults work just fine and I have enough corporations trying to harvest my data without inviting another one into my parlor. If you're already a guitar player then you probably have better effects to use anyway and if you're just starting out then what's there will get you a fair ways. The only thing I think I'll miss is the battery level, which is displayed in the app but otherwise you have to guess at. I'll just keep mine charging when I'm not playing it probably.
The app isn't a deal-breaker for me so I'm still pretty happy with my purchase. I'd still buy it knowing what I know now. It was, however, worth dinging a star from the review.

It’s a really nice way to learn the capabilities of this instrument. I’ve had acoustic and electro-acoustic but this is my first electric guitar. It’s hard to believe it’s carbon fiber. It feels very solid in my hands. And for the price it’s great for someone just starting out on electric or even a first guitar for a beginner player. I was a little leery about the magnetic strap but so far has been pretty solid. It comes with standard strap buttons so I can use my existing strap should I choose but the magnetic strap attaches pretty quickly. I like plugging into an amp but it’s pretty convenient to have the built in speaker which sounds much better than I expected. I took it on an RV camping trip and was glad to have an instrument that I would not have to worry about dings or wood cracking from lack of humidity (desert camping). And it came with a very nicely padded gig bag. Also after my wife went to sleep I just plugged headphones into the guitar and played to my heart’s content knowing I would not wake her. I’ve been playing with the preset tones and effects but can see creating new effects over time and adding them to the library. The strings needed to settle some and after a week of playing every day the tuning is minimal. It came with the adjusting wrench, manual, charging cable, a nice USB A or C charging block and gig bag. And I was able to find online a full manual for download. Because I’m still a novice on guitar I was not sure of the controls but they had a nice overlay on the body explaining the controls.
