About this item

  • ♫ A Beginner Package to Start: This Enya 25D ukulele comes with a beginner kit that contains basically every essential accessory tool to start your ukulele journey: A thickened gig bag, that is easy to carry and able to protect your ukulele way better than those poorly made bags that most brands use on their beginner level instruments; A canvas fabric strap; A set of custom use strings; A simple set of guitars picks; A solid capo.
  • ♫ Warm & Vibrant Tone: Mahogany has been considered as one of those primary options for ukulele tonewood. We spare no expense on that solid mahogany top, which is the tonal engine of this particular model of ukulele. It provides a warm, vibrant, yet balanced tone, which is desirable for ukulele playing. The body is in concert size, which is ideally for ukuleles. Strum it up. You’ll know what I’m talking about.
  • ♫ Excellent Craftsmanship: When it comes to buying your first ukulele, poor craftsmanship is definitely gonna throw you off the thrill of making up your mind to pick up the uke in the first place. We’ve all been there. And that’s why we’ve poured our hearts out to make this ukulele right, in the terms of build quality. The exquisite matte finish is carefully applied. Frets are delicately polished. The strings are made out of fluorocarbon, which feels smooth and slinky in hand.
  • ♫ Simple and Neat: The exquisite matte not only brings a smoother hand feel but also brings a neater aesthetic look than the old-fashion gloss finish. We don’t put too many motifs onto this 25D ukulele just to keep it simple and elegant. But taking a closer look, you’ll find the fret marks are in little flower shapes, which are 100% hand-carved. There is also a herringbone-style motif around the sound hole. Besides, the tuning pegs are made of rubber, which adds the handgrip during tuning.
  • ♫ Don’t Quit: When buying your first ukulele, there is always this one thing that’s dreading you: the doubt of perseverance. The question of whether I can keep on playing the instrument has entered basically every beginner’s mindset. Trust us, we’ve been there ourselves. And that’s what drives us to build this 25D ukulele: A ukulele that tackles all the common flawed issues of budget beginner ukeleles; A ukulele that’ll get you to fall in love with playing. A ukulele that you won’t quit.

Product Description

A ukulele that tackles all the common flawed issues of budget beginner ukeleles; A ukulele that’ll get you to fall in love with playing. A ukulele that you won’t quit.

ukulele

Enya 25D ukulele products have an amazing tone and appearance. And you can get almost all the accessories for beginners. Whether you're strumming in a hammock on the beach or kicking back in a recliner in your living room, this ukulele is a great way to spread some good vibrations.

Solid Mahogany Top

About the tone, there is just nothing wrong with it. It’s a solid mahogany top uke. It naturally sounds nice and warm, because of the tonal quality of mahogany. ENYA team really finds a way of keeping that brilliant part of the tone even with the mahogany body and neck. You have no problem getting that warm and nice tone, meanwhile having all the detail in the higher frequency range.

UKULELE
UKULELE

Low Action

Depending on the ukulele, we like to set the action at 2.5mm to 3.0mm in height. This is the distance between the strings and the 12th fret. If the strings are too high, the instrument becomes uncomfortable to play. The action is between 2.5mm so that we can play it comfortably.

A Great Gift

Enya 25D ukulele is light and is the most original size of the ukulele. Its sound is full and bright. It is suitable for solo and fingering, suitable for beginners and professionals. It is a great gift for the festival.

Decent beginner ukulele but will need some setup for advanced use
4 Stars
Decent beginner ukulele but will need some setup for advanced use
BUILD: Accurate, with no sharp frets.TUNING PEGS: Good. Disregard reviews claiming it won't stay in tune. You can only tell the peg is failing if you see it spinning by itself. Otherwise, it's just the strings settling in, which can take a while, even on the most expensive ukes.INTONATION: +25c at 12th fret and worse further. Can it be improved by filing the saddle? Perhaps, but that's not a task for a novice. For beginners, however, this isn't a significant concern as they typically play on low frets.STRINGS: The strings that came with it are too thin and lack sufficient tension to my taste. I think they will play and sound better (louder and brighter) with higher tuning rather than the standard GCEA. Please note that I checked intonation with these strings in standard tuning.ACCESSORIES: The tuner is not functioning; the display is glowing, but it is empty. The rest is as advertised.SOUND: It can't be fully judged due to the strings, but overall, it seems nice. It's not excessively loud but the body resonates in a way that implies it can easily handle low-G.CONCLUSION: With a discount, it's a good buy. I got it as a Black Friday deal. It's perfectly suitable for beginners, but for more advanced players better strings and intonation setup are necessary.UPDATE AFTER 10 DAYS OF USE:I've managed to improve the intonation: +10, +10, +10, 0 cents at 12th fret compared to the original all +25 cents at 12th fret. I can't say there's much room left on the saddle for further changes, but it's already a significant enhancement. The action is now at 2.7mm at the 12th fret with no buzzing. I can relate to the comment about the "bent-backwards neck", I can see too that there is a break-up angle around 14th fret. Because of that, the action is getting bigger, at 17th fret it is 3.5mm, and at the last, 20th fret, it's around 4.2mm. Yes intonation goes off because of that too and is around +20 cents at 20th fret. The Aquila New Nylgut low-G (wound) string set worked quite well, significantly improving the sound and feel. The maximum resonance is at low A, but the low G is also loud enough. There's some occasional rattling in the E fine-tuner that randomly appears and goes away. Since the tuner is of a closed type, I can't see inside, but I suspect there might be a tiny piece of metal or something and when it gets caught between the gear teeth during the tuning, there's no rattling. Like now it went away.Anyway I'm firm on my rating, 4 out of 5, nice beginner ukulele for the price, requires setup.

I was getting spammed about an Enya EUT-70 pretty much every time I opened Amazon, and I was thinking of getting another ukulele as a "toss in the trunk" cheap uke. So I figured "what the heck?"

It comes with pretty much everything a newbie like me would need to get started- a basic electronic tuner, gig bag, extra strings, strap, "finger shaker" (???), a cleaning cloth and guitar picks (not felt ones, too bad).

The Amazon shipping box was ripped and damaged at one end (OH, NO!!!). I opened it up, and found the Enya box inside was damaged and missing the end (DOUBLE OH NO!!!). I opened the box, and there sat the gig bag... When opened, I found no damage to the ukulele (WHEW!). I also found that it had some beautiful Acacia wood veneer... and the decal ring around the sound hole actually seems to be inlaid- NOT a decal!

Ok, so far so good. I checked the accessories. Nothing broken, everything is there that is supposed to be, although it did not have the accessory bag that the US version comes with.
Time to tune... I installed the included cell and powered it up. Lights up, good start. I tested it on my other (freshly tuned) uke, it seems accurate. Tried it on the Enya, OMG!!! The strings are so loose! The tuning pegs are brass gear, and seemed to tune smoothly and turned easily. After a lot of cranking, got the strings in tune. By the time I tuned the A string, I had to go back to the G string- did this about 4 times! Strummed a C cord... sounds nice to my cauliflower ear... Oh, wait... time to tune it again! LOL Bottom line, it has a nice rich sound and no rattle or buzzing. Great! And plastic strings will stretch a lot for the first dozen tunes, so this is nothing to be surprised over.

Now on to the accessories... The tuner is extremely small, changes color to green when in tune to a note. The strap is red, white and blue (American influence, I guess), but seems usable and is a shoulder strap- not a J-hook. The ukulele comes with two buttons installed for the strap. The capo seems pretty flimsy, but does work well. The picks are hard plastic in 0.5mm and 0.75 mm- great for a guitar but I don't think I will be using them on my uke. The finger shaker makes a shakey sound, so I guess it works fine. The strings are same as the ones installed- Enya carbon strings. I have read good and bad for these, so I may change them down the road. But always nice to have spare strings! The microfiber cloth seems ok for dusting or removing fingerprints... The gig bag is AMAZING! It is fairly thick padding (took a pic to show, but it seems to be close to 3/4" with the fabric on both sides), has a nice raised pocket on the outside for all this stuff to be stored, and fits the ukulele perfectly (I should hope so...). Unfortunately, it is basic black with black piping and the only splash of color is the Enya logo on a chrome badge. But it is a great and well made gig bag! Oh, and you get access to OKMusician with a free account, so free lessons (not sure how good they are, but they are free).

Now I do not (yet) know musical instruments, but I do know how to judge fabrication quality. I can tell you that the fit and finish is excellent, the Enya has an absolutely smooth neck- not a single sharp edge from the brass of a fret sticking out. The edges are seamless, and the neck is tight flush with the body.
So... if you know of anyone who wants to try getting into playing the tenor ukulele but does not want to spend a bunch of money right away, suggest this to them. Honestly, the gig bag is worth more than half of the cost!

Update- I have had this ukulele now for about 5 weeks... Still love it, no issues. I am going to change out the strings though- not a fan of the carbon strings, and I want to change over to low G anyway. But there is nothing wrong with the strings, just prefer Aquila Nylgut. Dollar for dollar, this is the best deal for a tenor ukulele!

Got my new Tenor Uke today and I was stoked. It looked pristine and factory packaged with nothing seemingly out of place once I got it all the way open. However, when I inspected the Uke, one of the head slots is unfinished on the inside. It's not immediately noticeable, but it's there. It does not affect the sound, just a cosmetic thing. I worked with the seller and received a discount that I felt was very fair. They were very helpful and responsive and giving me the discount was preferable to returning the unit as I had already fallen in love with the Uke. Other than that one thing, the look of the unit is really good for the price. Sound is also amazing with the factory strings but I replaced with Aquila Reds (Low G) because I prefer the 'guitar-like' sound of the Low G. For the price, I would absolutely recommend this Ukulele to anyone, especially with the customer service I experienced. Tuner works well, but needs to be adjusted to "C" for tuning Low G. Some have said the Capo is a bit junky and it certainly doesn't look like a high quality unit, but I've used it a few times and it's functioning okay so far. Time will tell, I guess. Other purchasers have mentioned they got a sound-hole 'hook' type neck strap with their kit, but mine had a standard strap in the box (of decent quality), which is much better. The gig bag is quite nice, as well. Thick padding and a large front pocket to store all the goodies. Shipping was fast, too. Order late on a Friday and was told 3-5 business days. Received the unit the following Tuesday morning. Overall, pleased with the value of the purchase and with the Seller's willingness to go the extra mile. My wife will likely need a Concert Uke soon, I won't hesitate to order another Enya.

I'm extremely disappointed my Concert sized Uke wasn't put in a larger case. It was jammed in the case like sardines in a can. Was this the right size or should it have been for a smaller sized Uke?
Please query the supplier for an answer.
Color is beautiful, sounds pretty good and price was awesome.
Delivery was much faster than original date which was a surprise!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hella worth it! Be mindful of mold though (update)
Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2019
Colour Name: Blue Concert UkuleleVerified Purchase
I got this for my birthday and I instantly fell in love! The tuner works! I tried to tune it with the tuner at first and then tested it against my phone tuner and when I was within 10 cents on either they both lit up green. It comes with everything as advertised (forgot to include the capo in the pic). I was worried the strap wouldn't be a button strap but it is so big yay! No place to store the picks on the strap like on some other designs but not bad. It may be short for some people though. I'm a small person and the strap is almost fully extended for me so be mindful of that. The micro fiber cloth is nice and so is everything else. Now, the bag, it's great. BUT! It did come with a few small mold spots on the back. Personally I don't really care because it's easy to wipe off but it's something I have to note and deduct a star for.

Now, the ukelele. The build quality is absolutely stunning! The blue stain is a beautiful turquoise blue with a nice satin finish. The fret markers seem to be wood inlay. The frets don't require any sanding at all. Tuning was very simple and surprisingly smooth. It's very easy on the fingers and I would say the action is nice and low (at least compared to my only other uke, I'm not an expert on this so keep that in mind). No fret buzz too. The sound is very warm and full, loud and blended sound. If you're looking for a solid concert uke with everything for a good price. Get this! Be mindful of the potential mold on the bag though.

I will have further updates if anything happens in the future

Update: it's only a few days from Dec. and I have a serious mold problem in my basement/room and I tend to keep my ukelele there in it's case because I use it, the mold on the bag has not grown back at all since I wiped it off back in September 23 I believe? Anyway I guess it wasn't mold on my bag but just dirt, so upping this to 5 stars
