Excellent microphone boom arm, even with heavy microphones!

Very impressive boom arm at a shockingly-decent price! Using it with my Rode PodMic, which is a heavy microphone at over 2 pounds. The arm holds this microphone without any issue at all, even at full extension. If you're in the market for a boom arm between $100 and $200, this is a fantastic unit.

What I like:
- Very sturdy and very well built
- Very easy to setup and install
- Can hold heavy microphones (2lb+ Rode PodMic)
- Positioning mechanism is amazing (I move it back and forth dozens of times per day)
- Ball mount with 3 sizing options is very impressive and strong
- Cable management channel is a great addition
- Sustainable packaging

What I don't like:
- Screwing mechanism is unnessecarily long, making it difficult if you have a shelf built under your desk (could easily 1" shorter")

I've had other, cheaper mic stands and arms before, but decided to invest in an upgrade. All I can say is WOW. This is the best, sturdiest, most practical, and sleeves for cable management of all boom arms I've ever owned. It perfectly fits my Pre-Sonus PD70 (a much more affordable alternative to the Shure SM7B). It's strong enough to handle heavy mics and very easy to maneuver. It also keeps its position well. Honestly... look no further. It's even better than many more expensive "premium" mic arms. It's amazing and worth every dollar. Trust me... buy this beauty. You won't be disappointed.

Absolute upgrade!! wire management, sturdiness, quality.... didn't have to put the weight but i still did because I like when i move it there is no wobbling. Picked this up for my Elgato Wave 3 mic. My setup is mainly used for gaming, specifically roleplay servers for RDR2 and GTA. I had been using a budget arm which I picked up from amazon for 30 bucks or something, but over time I found it a little clunky (springs made noise, and it conducted desk noise into the mic itself from time to time) plus I wanted something functional, which looked good and kept the mic wire hidden etc. This arm does all those things well, and has a few options for various setups! I haven't used the detachable riser as it clamps onto my desk fine in default mode, but it's inclusion is a welcome addition. The clamp is sturdy and everything feels solid. The counter weight works well to allow you to get the mic into the perfect position for gaming. Overall I have zero complaints and have been happy with my purchase.

I picked this arm up when it was on sale, paid about $100 under what it's currently going for, if you aren't in need of this stand right now it may be worth waiting to see if it goes on sale at some point. Overall though it's a quality stand, made with some solid metal and plastic parts... easy to recommend especially if you have an Elgato Wave 3 and the other accessories for that mic (shock mount and pop filter etc).

Cannot even say enough about this product. I now have 3 of these. They work for light mic's or heavy ones. For the light ones they even add a metal weight that fits very nice close to the end of the boom. The cable management aspect is great also. I have a Wave 3 on one. Also the new XLR light mic on one. I use the weight on those two. The other I attached a camera. The motion of these is second to none. Very smooth and no springs to get caught on or anything like that. It is almost like it is all hydraulic. Or pistons. There is no pulling it down past where you want it and having it lift back up. Have never had them sag down for no reason. The mounting hardware is fantastic. The Ratchet part is great. For those tight spots. Where you might have a desk bar in the way. Do not think you can go wrong with this product.

This mic arm is great! I previously had a Rode PSA-1 that I absolutely loved, and passed down to a family member for their build. I was planning on purchasing another one, or the newer PSA-1+, but I noticed that this mic arm by Elgato, which I had not heard about, had amazing reviews! The look was in my personal opinion cooler than the Rode, and the build quality seemed amazing. It works perfectly with my Shure SM7B, as long as you use one of the given adapters in the Elgato's box.

I tried a few different mic arms, and while they're all pretty decent, the Elgato Wave Mic Arm is just a cut above. The range of motion is spectacular, there is ZERO struggle of where to place the mic. Literally grab and move it. Quality of materials is very good. Good cable management. It's also a fair bit longer than most mic arms, which is a plus for mounting behind a desk. At full price it's a good value but on sale it's a steal. You'll be spending more than double from other manufacturers just to match this.

The only reference that I had before was a cheap boom arm that was able to manage my Rode Procaster. It was ok but not as solid and fluid as this Elgato mic arm. Just out of the box you feel it was made with quality materials, no loosen parts, well packaged, attencion on details...

The cable management space is smart, put the cable on it is really easy. For reference, I use my Rode Procaster (around 745g) with the counterweight included but you can used without it, the arm stays in place. The ballhead is actually very useful for fine-tuning the mic position. With a little tightening the mic stays in position and the mechanism feels sturdy.

I put it just behind of my 27 inch monitor and is not necessary to put the extension tube to rise the boom arm over the screen, it saves my space and keep my line of sight free and a little more clean, I can almost hide the mic and arm behind the monitor when I'm not using it.

There is no noise of springs or metal parts when a move the arm, it is very quiet. I think you need to hit the arm with a reasonable force o move it quiet hard to listen some noise or vibration transmited through the arm.

I don't know if you can obtain same quality for less money, or if paying more gives you a better boom arm, the only I can say is this mic arm offers great quality for what I consider a fair price.
