For some backstory, I got the Blue Compass boom arm back in late June 2023, hoping it would work with my setup for reading Audio Description scripts professionally. Despite my efforts to move my monitor and reposition the arm, I couldn't find a comfortable and ergonomic setup.Then I discovered the Wave Mic Arm LP from Elgato last year. I hesitated for a while because I already had a mic arm and had heard about small issues like the magnetic cable management cover falling off and the Allen key requirement for tension adjustments. These were minor turn-offs, but the promise of a mic arm that worked well was tempting.In May 2024, I finally caved and bought the low-profile arm, especially after learning about some quality-of-life updates, like stronger magnets, no more use for an Allen key, an added route for cable runs, etc.Plus, I was tired of my Blue Compass and its difficulties. I ordered it last night, and it arrived today. Unboxing and setting it up was a breeze. It holds both the Blue Yeti X and the Radius III shock mount perfectly. I had to attach my pop filter to the shock mount since the arm was too thick to clamp it on, but that was a minor adjustment.I've been testing it out all day, and I am thoroughly impressed. For those on the fence, I highly recommend this boom arm. It's cheaper than the Blue Compass and provides a mic arm that won't obstruct your screen while delivering great audio quality.

Bought this because Rode refuses to make a riser for their PSA1 Mic Boom to get the mics up over top the monitors. Well, this is awesome! Very sturdy, strong, flexible and adjustable. Fits to a thick desk. Really well made. Way to go Elgato!

Really glad I bought this. A lot of microphone arms are too big and crowd my desk. With this one, I can tuck it underneath my monitor when I am not using it. The build quality is great and I love that it has an in built cable manager. Well worth the money.

I use this with a Blue Mic Yeti Classic. It attaches easily and sturdily. The metal is heavy duty and the clamps, swivels and screws all appear to be well made with zero flaw or blemishes. It is strong enough to hold the heavy-ish mic in place without difficulties. I have tried other less expensive mic stands and have had to return them because of lack of sturdiness and flimsy build quality.

I will be keeping the Elgato. Excellent product and worth the price paid.

This is the best mic arm! I love the fact that it is low profile and has free horizontal movement and fixed vertical movement. I can move the mic out of the way and then back whenever I need to talk to someone without worrying about readjusting it every time.

It looks very nice and the cable management feature makes everything more slick.

The clamp is wide so you don't have to worry about it damaging your table.

Currently using this with an XLR mic and it's been rock solid. No play and once you tighten everything down it's locked into place. Each joint comes with some adjustability regarding tension and everything you need comes in the box, it's a small packet with 2 different adapters and an allen wrench to adjust the tension. It's a bit more expensive than other low profile arms, but you get what you pay for and this one is quality.

The ball joint, where the mic is held, full on drops with a heavy mic when the clamp is loose so I'd watch out for that. You definitely need to have your hand on the mic while adjusting the clamp there. The other important thing is that this arm is clamp based, not spring based. It is a little difficult to see the photos because they are dark or are angled in a way where you can't see the clamp, but yes the joints have clamps. They are very good clamps though, and very easy to turn (no tools required), unlike cheap mic arms where you need a hex key.

This mic arm basically comes assembled already in the box, you just need to snap the clamp together, and just mount it wherever you please. I was very surprised, seeing as how the cheaper mic arms I have took longer to assemble in comparison. I am very pleased that I didn't have to allot a whole section of my floor or table to put this together.

The arm itself has a channel where you can put wires, it is very neat and you don't have to weave the wire at all. It's all very neat and professional looking. Way better than the cheap arms where you have to put the wire in between a gap, and use a clip to make the wire stay in place.

This easily holds my Blue Yeti mic, and it comes with adapters (screws) in one labelled paper bag. Do not lose this bag, it will be easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

Overall I would say this is worth the price, but only if it's on sale or if you absolutely need a premium mic arm.

It may not be a very necessary accessory but once you use it you can't live without it. The very slim design makes it very practical and convenient and definitely saves a lot of space. I'm a developer and use it (with a HyperX quad cast S) while working for meetings and programming to free up space on my desk and find very convenient that whenever I need to speak and type at the same time the mic can be in front of me kind of floating and capturing my voice while I can type on my keyboard without cables or devices in the middle. Won't say it makes me more productive but definitely makes my working experience better. I originally bought it just to save space and because I was told that an arm for my mic would help reducing the sound of my keystrokes during meetings, but it had many more benefits.
The esthetics are another big factor, it definitely looks and is a high-quality product. People have noticed it during meetings not because they actually see the arm but because either the setup looks very clean or because they don't see where the mic is.
Extra points would be that it looks very fancy and pro when the camera shows how you move the arm.
