Echo sub
This sub is so powerful, with it tuned it’s twice as good. The sub can shake my 3 bedroom apartment and the peoples apartment below me. 100% recommend. It’s a 6 inch sub 100 watts and my boyfriend told me it sounds better than a single 12 inch sub. It’s also such an easy install, just make sure your phone isn’t connected to your Alexa playing music or the sub won’t connect and when you connect your phone to the Alexa the sub doesn’t work when your phone is connected to your alexa

I bought this sub to compliment my Echo Studio and my Fire Cube Third Gen and its AWESOME, this is going to be a longer review. Upon getting it I had troubles pairing it to my Echo home theater setup. Took me forever to figure out why. BUT I have answers for other people so they don't go through the same trouble... You MUST make sure that all of your devices that the Echo Sub is going to be on are on the EXACT same wireless network with the SAME wireless frequency. If it's 2 GHz. Then they must be ALL on 2 GHz. If your Amazon devices are on 5 GHz then they must ALL be on 5GHz. With the exception of Ethernet. My fire cube is connected through ethernet so it did not seem to affect it. But my Echo studio kept reverting back to 2 GHz instead of the 5 GHz. And the echo sub kept connecting to the 5 GHz band and vice versa. And because this was happening I was getting an "incompatibility notification" on the Alexa App. I actually had to go into the Alexa app and reset the wireless networks so that my equipment would stop changing its frequency or bands. My equipment had both frequencies saved, but they would jump in between them depending on network conditions and this would cause incompatibility. But once this was solved. Everything works beautifully. Amazon doesn't really explain this to people openly... and I think this is important to know. Save yourself a whole lot of trouble. Just make them all on the same band and you'll be good. So for the sub... It punches really hard. I have an Echo Studio so my system already had quite a bit of bass. And for music the bass was definitely higher. I mean I definitely noticed much much deeper bass notes. But where this sub really shines is watching movies. I noticed anything that's in 5.1 or Dolby Atmos and the sub punches REALLY hard. The echo studio already had very good sound and bass. But when it comes to movies it just completely tops it off. It adds so much more depth and boom to movies. I can feel it rumbling my floor. During movies, I actually have to turn the sub volume down through the Alexa app because it was a bit too loud. I am so happy with this sub so far. I have only had it for a few hours now so I can't speak on other things. But I am absolutely astonished on how much more depth the Echo subwoofer brings to music and movies, especially movies. Some people were saying that they didn't notice more bass adding it to a Echo Studio, because it already has a lot of bass, but I can't understand why they would say that because I definitely noticed way way more bass. And not just more bass. But much deeper bass. So if anyone's looking at getting this sub for their Echo Studio I definitely say do it. Because it adds so much more to the system. I should have gotten this subwoofer a long time ago. Build quality seems top notch. And it's a hefty boy. It's pretty heavy. Has really nice rubber feet and a cloth finish. Amazon definitely really knows what they're doing when it comes to making speakers and sound. I don't know how they do it. But they know how to make decent speakers and subs that's for sure! Way better than my other speakers from other competitors that starts with A and G! If you catch my drift. I think in terms of this area... Amazon just does it better. They are killing it with the speaker game! And I can definitely see why their speakers sell so well. Because they're legitimately good. So if you're looking to add this sub to your system I say do it. For a while I was looking up reviews and I wasn't too sure if I should spend the money on the sub. But now that I have it I am glad I did.

I opened the box and then opened the Alexa app.
I then plugged in the sub and went through the motions adding it to my home network (easy peasy) and paired it with a 4th generation Echo.
The sound is very clean. The room I have the pair in is about 12’ X 20’ (office) and the sound is amazing.
It IS a 6” floor firing 100w powered sub. When paired with the echo it is like everything the echo was missing is now there sound wise.
It is not perfect. But the sub and the echo together cost me about $350. For that price I am more than happy with the sound and ease of installation.
Now don’t get me wrong, these are not “world changing” sound or value. But they do sound good and the price for what you get is also good.
My daily headphones are Beats Studio 3s. When it comes to wired headphones I actually like the apple earbuds. But I do have a set of Monster wired buds. They sound better with EDM or bassy genres. But for all around listening.. like radio or podcasts, I prefer the apple wired buds.

At the end of the day…
You can adjust a 3 band equalizer separate from the paired device that (I think) controls the pairs volume. This is done through the app. There is no controls on the sub itself. You cannot change anything manually on the sub. Aside from the button that enables Bluetooth connectivity.
A power cable input and a single button is it.

Would I buy it again?
Yes. I really like how it fills out the sound of the echo.
One thing that I do not like is that when you use the pair as a Bluetooth device, the volume is always lower. You must increase the volume to use as a Bluetooth set. If you forget to lower the volume before using it as a stand alone player for say Amazon music… the volume is going to be loud. Very loud.
I like it all around. The shape, the colour and the sound. It all makes for a nice sounding, punchy addition to my office.
I am even considering buying a second sub and two of the 5th generation echos for the basement den FireTV.

This a such an amazing little subwoofer that fills the room with rich bass. If you we to close your eyes this sounds a lot bigger than it is!

I don't understand the reviewers saying that the bass is light, the default setting is light. But you can really turn it up by going into the Alexa app and adjusting the audio settings.

Extremely happy with this purchase. I currently have it paired with the Echo Premium Audio but will likely get the Echo Studio or two to really pack some additional punch!
