How long the luteinizing hormone (LH) surge, triggers the release of an egg, lasts can vary from woman to woman. During the LH surge, LH can reach its peak in just a few hours (“rapid onset”), or it can take up to 6 days to reach peak before ovulation (“gradual onset”).

What is the best time of day to take the ovulation test?

The ideal time to collect a urine sample is in the afternoon, though testing may safely take place from 10am to early evening.

When is the best time to start the test?

I can't confirm yet if they worked in my favor but it was SUPER clear on the morning of day 12 that it was the peak. An immediate very dark line appeared compared to all the others. Pretty cool to see. The app reads questionable values sometimes but I'm sure there's a science to it. My tests on days 9,10,11 were all done in the morning but I took the photos in the afternoons, hence the later timestamps. Definitely recommend testing first thing in the morning. It won't be the same for everyone- and you have to be careful your pee isn't too hydrated if you test in the afternoon because it affects the results, obviously. Hopefully they're accurate. Time will tell. As of right now impressed with these. Hope this review helps someone have peace of mind. Good luck!

The cups were great, but I personally did not like these strips. I previously used Make A Baby test strips, which the tests were obvious when I was ovulating. I had strong pink test lines at ovulation, and when I wasn’t ovulating the line was pale pink to not visible. The Easy @Home Strips test lines are always there and they are fluctuating in transparency all the time, so I have no idea when I’m ovulating. The app I use to read my tests doesn’t know either. I used them for two cycles, and there is no clear ovulation indicator. I rely on these tests to avoid getting pregnant as i cannot use hormonal birth control. Becoming pregnant would be an extremely difficult pregnancy, if it takes, and would be dangerous for my health. It is imperative I have accurate test strips. Unfortunately these don’t work for me as they do for many other women.
