I am disabled; this vacuum has changed the game for me and others I know who love the light weight, the battery lasts fabulously on regular and as others have said not long at all on max as I don't use max it's perfect for me to vacuum the horrid amount of hair I have been dealing with (3 dogs 1 broken leg. Healing well just slow) but it makes me feel good to not have to struggle to carry or drag a heavy corderd vacuum around. My Battery just died after nearly 10 years ... 55to 120 ish for new battery and I'm off and running again. Well worth the purchase for us. Even my friends come over and love playing with my vacuum to. I should get paid for the friends that have gotten one in the past year after playing with mine.

After going through many different makes of vacuum cleaners, I have finally found one that works for the fur of our long-haired dog. I had heard how great the Dyson series of vacuums were, but was always put off by the cost. Finally, after being frustrated by other brands which were effective for a period, but then became more useful as doorstops than as a cleaner, I made the decision to "bite the bullet" and spend the extra money on the brand name vacuum. The first time I used my Dyson, it picked up handfuls of fur from areas that I thought were clean. The carpets look cleaner, and hardwood floors pristine. Suction is strong even on the lower setting to make floors look like new. Emptying the canister is as easy as could be. Battery life is sufficient to clean my small home. I love that by placing the Dyson in the wall hanger it attaches directly to the charger. No searching for charging cords, or charging/change detachable batteries. My Dyson is always ready and charged whenever I need it. It is neatly tucked away, taking up little room. Being an older person, I appreciate the fact that the Dyson is lightweight and easily maneuvered. It is light enough that when the head is removed and used separately, makes cleaning our carpeted stairs easier than ever. In summary, I love my Dyson, and would recommend that the extra cost is well worth it. You will save yourself the frustration of purchasing multiple machines which are not effective. and which will end up costing more in the long-run. My only regret is that by thinking of the cost I was actually denying myself the "pleasure" of a cleaner home. I don't worry about how much our beautiful dog sheds, and can enjoy her playful personality.

I love the lightweight convenience of having this handy little vacuum at the ready at all times.
We are often and visited by our granddog in our room and he sheds a lot!
battery life 😨 s short on max power. Having the availability of multiple batteries may be helpful. This unit has one attached battery.
however just plug it in when you're done after letting it rest for a while and get after it the next day.
I use it everyday for n my small area ( carpet)and I am amazed about how much dust dirt and dog hair that I get even after constant vacuuming. Works on the laminate and tile also.
I have noticed my husband (who has asthma) is sneezing and coughing a lot less since I bought this unit and have begun to use it on a daily basis.
I purchased a whole bunch of other accessories to go with it so that I can clean small areas Windows drawers etc and I am looking forward to seeing how that does.
Overall don't waste your money on the cheap ones get something good, like this unit.

Used my accessories that I purchased to go with this unit. The flexible hose and brush/crevice tool made it so easy! No cords to wrangle!
It's lightweight design makes it easy on an old lady like myself!
* Side note* this unit must have the trigger depressed manually while using, so that requires two hands whilst car vacuuming.
I believe this feature/ design was meant to conserve battery life during use. I read that there's an attachment available for keeping the trigger depressed constantly. Not sure tho

I’ve been holding out on buying a Dyson for YEARS. I thought there’s NO WAY a vacuum should cost that much more over other vacuum cleaners. How much of a difference could there be in suction? Especially once other brands came out with a knockoff vacuum, right? WRONG
I won’t name the three other brands I bought and tried and used for years. They each did a decent job of vacuuming. I will say what I love about the Dyson and why I won’t go back to another brand. I live with my husband in a 1500 sq ft home along with an elderly small dog and a cat.
First; the suction. Wow, I am amazed at the crap I got up even after I vacuumed with my old vacuum. Great suction and easy dumping canister. My floors look great. This even got up dog hair from an area carpet.
Second; the sound. I have multiple hearing issues. Certain pitches and decibels can really annoy me. The Dyson has low amount of noise. It doesn’t have that high pitch that can sound like fingernails on a chalkboard or screaming to me. The Dyson was a pleasure, the sound is almost gentle. If you HATE the sound of a vacuum, you might try Dyson. My ears are happy.
Third; the weight. It is very very light weight. Super easy to move around and swivel. Crazy easy to get into corners and behind furniture. An absolute breeze to handle.
Fourth; battery time. Lasted long enough for me to vacuum all the floors in my house.
Lastly; quality. Quality parts, switches, buttons, brushes, etc. All are of great quality. I expect this vacuum to last for a very long time. So pleased.

I'll be honest, I'm very lazy when it comes to cleaning so if something comes along that makes cleaning easier for me, I'm buying it. I have an upright corded vacuum which works well but the thought of unwrapping the cord, plugging it in, constantly trying to make sure the cord isn't in the way the entire time while trying to vacuum, and wrapping the cord back up just makes vacuuming less appealing to me resulting in only vacuuming my apartment maybe once a month (lazy, I know). I had a stick vacuum in the past which was horrible and barely picked up debris on hard floor much less on carpet but after seeing the Dyson V8 on sale and reading reviews, I decided to buy it even though I've never spent near that kind of money on a cleaning tool but it looked more convenient than my upright. It was very quick and easy to put together after delivery, I charged it fully before use. I tested it set on the lower power setting on an area of carpet that I hadn't vacuumed in weeks, and at first I wasn't sure if it was doing much until I looked in the canister. After only vacuuming a small section, the canister was completely full with dust, cat hair, and litter (I have two cats). Emptying it was a little tricky, I watched a quick Youtube video and figured it out, and I ended up having to empty it multiple times vacuuming my small apartment. Having to hold the power button down the whole time was a little annoying but all in all vacuuming was a breeze with this vacuum. I'm able to reach tighter spaces that my upright wasn't able to reach, and I can just store it in my small entryway closet for easy access. I find that I'm now more motivated to vacuum since it's so much easier and quicker, and I like that I'm able to use it on both hard floors and carpet. I also love that all the Dyson parts are easily available for purchase if anything breaks in the future, unlike my upright vacuum where I wouldn't have the first clue what to do if it stopped working other than the hassle of having to take it to a vacuum repair shop.
