Not for tent or canopy repairs!
This product is just thicker packing tape and is probably less adhesive than the tape on the box it came in. I expected it to be at least a sticky as Tuck tape but nope, just regular tape that does not stick to canvas or fabric tents or canopies. Save your money and don't by this product if your intention is to fix one of these items as mine was.I was a bit skeptical upon purchasing this tape to repair some minor wear and a small tear on my 10'x10' Coleman canopy (which is only 2 years old) but after reading the reviews and looking into other options, I thought I could give this a try. After it arrived, I took my canopy down and went to work to repair it. The canopy was very dry as it had been sitting in the sun most of the day. Right away I noticed that the tape was not very sticky and did not adhere to the fabric on the canopy very well (but it did stick a bit). I then used a hard rounded object to push the tape down in hopes of better adhesion to the canopy, let it sit for about an hour and then put the canopy back up to sit in the sun for the rest of the day. The next morning (pictures provided), there was a light dew on the canopy and the tape was pealing up from the canopy in every spot that it was applied. It did not even last 24h in ideal conditions.Now I have to look into other solutions before I put my canopy away for the season and am left with just some strong clear packing tape for boxes, as this all it appears to be good for.
