Also the power button is raised a little so you can feel it in the dark.- Remembers your last settings for soundtrack and volume. It doesnโt remember the timer and defaults to 30 minutes (likely to conserve battery) but this is fine.- Volume is surprisingly loud for its size and has a lot of levels for adjusting it to be just right.Cons:- Will not turn on when plugged in but works fine again as soon as you unplug it. Not a big deal if you plan ahead and remember to charge it during off times.- Limited tracks, has all your basic white noise, fan, beach, rain etc. and a couple lullabies so if you arenโt picky youโre all set. TLDR: Great with its tiny size for travel but still prefer other Dreamegg models for in-home use. More details below.
Pros:
- Decent battery life; continuously for 12+ hours on a full charge so can get through a full night if needed.
- Instructions are clear and controls are easy to understand even with only a few buttons. Also the power button is raised a little so you can feel it in the dark.
- Remembers your last settings for soundtrack and volume. It doesnโt remember the timer and defaults to 30 minutes (likely to conserve battery) but this is fine.
- Volume is surprisingly loud for its size and has a lot of levels for adjusting it to be just right.

I travel for work and often find myself in a noisy hotel room. I've used earplugs in the past, but I don't think long-term use is good for the health of your ear canals, and I wake up every morning with sore ears. I've tried noise-masking earbuds; while they work exceptionally well, I was not comfortable blocking out sound to that level for safety reasons.
Compared to other white noise machines, the DREAMEGG stands out for its compact size and lightweight design. It's smaller than a salt shaker and weighs less than 50 grams, making it a perfect travel companion that doesn't take up valuable space in your suitcase.
The controls are easy to use- there are dedicated buttons on the bottom of the unit, with sixteen sounds to choose from. I prefer the white noise to the digital nature sounds, but you might enjoy falling asleep to a rain shower. These digital clips are short and loop to save memory. If the looping bothers you, stick with ambient or fan sounds where the loop is less evident.
There are 32 digital volume levels, and I was surprised by how loud the DREAMEGG gets. (Unfortunately, it was not loud enough to drown out the drunken hockey party in the next room on my last trip, but I fear that would have been impossible for any white noise machine.)
You can set the DREAMEGG to run all night or set a time for up to 90 minutes. I have mine set at 30 minutes.
The DREAMEGG charges by a USB C port, so there is no need to drag around a proprietary charging cable.
In conclusion, the DREAMEGG is a solid white noise generator that belies its small size and price. I always have one in my suitcase, charged for my next trip. My only quibble? I wish the DREAMEGG was a bright color so I don't miss this small machine when packing.

Physically, this sound machine is roughly the size of a K-cup coffee pod, so it does not need to take up much of any space in a suitcase, which is fantastic. The volume of sound output is not as loud as a larger machine, but it's certainly an acceptable volume, and better than I was expecting from such a small speaker.
There are a number of built-in sounds, but the basic white noise is the only one we'll be using.
Charging is done via USB-C, so it's convenient in that regard. From my testing, it appears that when fully charged, it should be able to play white noise at full volume for about 10 hours.
There is a sleep timer function to play sounds for 30/60/90 minutes, or no timer (stays on).
While I am happy to have this device for traveling, that does not mean it is perfect, though. It has some UI annoyances, which all seem like things that could be corrected with a software update:
1. Despite the manual stating that it remembers your settings between uses, that is not true. When turning OFF the timer function to play sound all night long, once the unit is powered off, and then turned on again, it will revert to a 30-minute timer, so it becomes necessary to press the timer button 3x every time the device is used to make sure the timer is off.
2. The unit cannot be turned ON while it is plugged in to charge. If wanting it to play sound all night and not starting with a full battery, it's definitely not possible to go 2 full nights on a single charge, so the 2nd night will need a power cord connected. If you turn the sound machine and get it playing a sound, and THEN plug in a charger, it will charge and play the sound simultaneously, but it makes no sense that it can't be powered on while it's already charging.
