No, you need to prepare an antenna (indoor or outdoor). And ensure that the TV tower signal covers the home area.

  • Does not pick up any channels even with antenna?

Check whether your indoor or outdoor antenna is in the coverage of the TV tower signal,Visit dtv.gov/maps to confirm available channels in your area.

Note: Always remember re-scan for channels after moving the Antenna.

  • Remote does not work at all and cannot control TV?

1. Before using it, install battery,and remote control learning,make sure your old remote is an infrared remote control or it will fail to self-study.

I wanted this to work so badly. But, it doesn't. A waste of my money, I'd have to say.

First, after I ordered it, they didn't ship it or it got lost. But I communicated with the sender via Amazon and it eventually arrived.

Plugged it in and...nothing. For a very, VERY long time. Took forever to boot up. But, eventually it tuned in. Picture's normal.

Opened the instructions and...INCOMPLETE. Bad English and at least one missing diagram, and NOTHING on how to program it to record. Pathetic.

Changed the channel and...waited...and waited...and waited...and...CHANNEL! Took about 30 to 40 seconds to change channels and get sound and picture! Crazy.

Tried the PVR (the REAL reason I wanted the device) and...it can't "see" that memory stick. Nor this other one. Nor a different one. Not one of the five units I tried.

Until it did work! Several days later!

So I tried to program and record something. Didn't do it. Can't seem to program it. (See "missing things in instructions" above.) It's got a really lousy user interface. It's both bad and SLLLLOOOOWWWW.

It "saw" the memory stick for just a few days. Now it doesn't see it.

The designers had the right idea. But their execution is fourth-rate. Look elsewhere.

Ce convertisseur n’a même pas duré un mois; tout a figé à l’écran et aucune touche de la télécommande ne fonctionnait. Il n’enregistrait pas toujours le bon poste programmé et de plus l’utilisation de Clé USB ne fonctionnait pas bien; le setup se désajustait à chaque fois. L’utilisation d’un disque dur standard branché à l’entré USB est continuellement actif même si l’appareil est fermé; il est préférable d’utiliser un disque SSD inférieur à 1To.

J’ai exposé les problèmes au commerçant et on m’a proposé de recommander un nouvel appareil pour remplacer celui défectueux et débourser seulement les frais de transports. J’ai préféré changer de modèle d’appareil parce que j’avais des doutes sur les frais que j’aurais eu a débourser.

J’ai fait l’acquisition d’un autre modèle de convertisseur qui fonctionne à merveille. Il accepte jusqu’à 2To de disque dur et l’USB s’arrête lorsque le convertisseur est fermé. Il fonctionne avec n’importe quelle clé USB et enregistre le bon poste programmé.
