Convenient dimmer for plug in lamps
Works exactly as described - useful for adding dimming function to any plug-in lamp. It also gives the ability to control the light from a couple feet away from the outlet which could be handy for lamps with no switch or with an inconvenient switch location. Tested successfully on dimmable LED and incandescent with no issues. According to the markings on the unit it is UL listed for indoor locations in both USA and Canada.

I have a ceramic lamp made for me decades ago by my dear great grandmother and I have treasured it since I was a teenager.

I have fixed it here and there but now I have truly brought into the modern age with this slider dimmer and a compatible RGB light bulb in the lamp.

The slider is right beside my reading chair and I can now simply move the brightness up or down depending on the time of day and I really like it.

Recommended highly for my own sentimental reasons.

Great small, portable dimmer for lights up to 300watts.

The plug - the part that goes into the wall socket - seems like a kind of nylon. Very firm, easy to grip when removing the unit from the wall. It is a polarized plug and has two "wings" on the top and bottom, to stop a ground pin. This is intended to simply dim lights - tungsten, LED or CFL types.

A cord of about three feet long, connects to the plug. That's not a long distance, but certainly enough to place the control box on a nearby table.

The slider switch - to control off to full bright - is smooth, and only when you slide the switch to the bottom to turn the light off, do you get a soft "click".

The cord is a pretty standard "lamp cord" wire (18AWG) and appears to be of good quality.

The dimmer box is actually screwed together, not glued. I like that.

If you want to adjust a light to a more desirable level, rather than trying to find a bulb with the right wattage, just install one of these. You will have complete control over how bright you want it, and it is a simple slide away, to shift back to full brightness. Nice size. Easy to use. A truly great idea!

So, I started using this with a lamp in the corner, as this gave me a controller on my side table (had great reach). Ended up moving it to my craft room, to control/dim my 150W LED shop light, and it's PERFECT! I now have a control right no the table, that can dim or turn on/off said light. The slider gives you the choice of your light level just right, and I never have to look for or even get up to reach the switch.

Really nice linear switch dimmer, with a soft (but clear) tactile click to completely turn the light off. The dimmer plugs into the wall outlet, and does not extend - your lamp cable plugs directly into the plug, so this does NOT act as an extension cable.

The switch assembly then extends via the cable for about 3 feet - a tad on the short side for some applications, but fine for the bedroom where I hide the switch by using nano tape to secure it to the back of my bedside table, and have a nice, dimmable light for anything from full on task light to a very dim 'find your way' illumination that won't disturb a sleeping partner.
