Like Jane wrote, the product you receive is not as pictured. The mesh is black elastic but the hooks are red and plastic.I didn't get a weird smell out of mine.It's a great product for the price and I'll be sure to use it often :)-1 star for wrong picture on amazon (Edit: They changed the pictures after my review.)I've added photos of the one I received to give you an idea

There are alot of cheaper cargo nets available, but I opted for the Delta Net with the plastic hooks (most others are bent wire hooks). Right out of the box I was impressed by the quality of the build. The hooks are SUPER strong high density plastic. The bungee cord is also very high quality, lots of tension. BOTTOM LINE - If you want a cargo next to keep your gear in your bicycle basket, spend the extra $ and buy a quality product that will last for many years.

It holds up well, until the plastic hooks snap and break. Really annoying. This is my second one. I like how stretchy it is, but it only lasts a season. The hooks should be metal. Ugh!

I ordered this to hold a bag onto my bike rack, but it's too small (the mesh doesn't stretch much at all). The product is just 15" X 15" with maybe an inch of leeway if you stretch it.

Upon trying to return it, I learned that the "Return Policy: Eligible for Refund or Replacement" is actually a link to more text that tells you you're not able to refund or replace it unless it arrives damaged!

Unless you're 100% positive that you're looking to attach something VERY small to your bike rack, look elsewhere and don't buy this, since it's actually final sale without being marked as such.
