Excellent monitor
I love this monitor. I love that the model I bought is height adjustable - in my photo I have it pushed down as low as it will go which makes it the perfect height for my workstation. It works perfectly with my Macbook as well as with my Windows work laptop. For some reason though it doesn't recognize my Macbook's input via USB-C so I connect it using HDMI. Oddly enough, I can plug my iPhone 15 Pro into the USB-C and it recognizes it as a valid input so I'm not sure why it doesn't pick up my Macbook via USB-C. This isn't an issue for me as I already had an HDMI cable laying around and had the "dongle" adapter for the MacBook. However this monitor doesn't come with an HDMI cable so keep that in mind if that's how you plan to connect it to your computer. It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a superspeed USB upstream cable but not HDMI. The monitor also does have built-in speakers but they sound like hot garbage. Compared to my Macbook Air's speakers they sound dull and muffled. Imagine putting a small portable Bluetooth speaker under a couple pillows and then sitting on it - that's how dull and muffled the monitor speakers are. But you're probably not buying this monitor for the speakers, so it's nice that it has them just in case you don't have any alternative sound output options. Overall, an excellent monitor and can easily be a great substitute if you prefer working with 2 monitors but only have room for 1.

I love this monitor. If you’re debating getting 2 monitors vs one wide one, get the wide one!

Sound quality is pretty good, love the curve. It’s a nice, wide screen but it fits nicely on my desk. It’s a great size and makes working remote so much easier. I can have 5 windows open no problem. Always have teams and my email open on the side and 2 browsers open for working. Having team calls is also so much better now that I have the space to see my document and also the people in the meeting.

This is essential for all work from home people. Also, the USB-C connection to my laptop is amazing, I love how it charges my laptop while broadcasting it to my monitor.

My kitten also loves her new at home personal Theatre for cat videos.

One, this is a BEAST of a monitor. It’s huge and honestly, I’m not complaining. Performance wise it performs well with gaming, office work & general viewing.

Two, the size of it makes it look like you’re working in a theatre. There is plenty of work room for you to have 4 small windows open at the same time to better work flow for working or going to class at home.

Three, graphics wise, it could be better but the picture options compensates well. Again I did buy a monster of a screen already & with the freesync I’m not complaining with the great productivity performance. Additionally the speakers does well enough. I did find that it’s a bit quieter when I’m on teams meetings during the day or generally viewing Netflix/youtube.

Fourth, my gaming experience has no complaints. I didn’t find any flicker or delay. My PS4 pro is connected via HDMI 2.1 and damn, it does deliver. The wide screen ratio makes my gaming worlds so much more immersive and I’m spoiled! Yes there is a gaming version of this monitor so I might look into splurging into that as a second monitor & connect a sound bar for that theatre gaming experience.

Lastly, I’m extremely pleased of this product. I have to say Dell set the bar well for an entry level monitor for your general use in home or office. As I mentioned, I’m thinking on buying another one for that double monitor action for the best workflow while working at home and the best gaming experience I’ve had so far.

Finally, just get one. Yes it has quirks and such, but keep in mind this is just the beginning. Upgrade and research the next monitor for you while enjoying the spoils of what is here.

Thank you Dell.

Panel looks great, however when i attempt to switch the refresh rate to 144hz on displayport there is no signal input, 120hz are fine. tested on MacOS and Windows PC even swap cables neither work. HDR also wouldn't work.

Dell powerful as always. I've been searching and trying many different monitors over the last few months to find a wide screen for work purposes, MSI, LG, Samsung, Acer and more...none were adequate nor powerful like this one. The picture is clear, not a single fuzzy area and the fonts come out beautifully. Where I had problem with other monitors to come out with nice fonts and easy reading this one is on another level of greatness. I wanted to replace my two 27" LeNovo Thinkvision with a single wide monitor so the task wasn't that easy but I finally found what I was looking for with this Dell Monitor.... I work in IT as technical advisor so I'm peaky .. I really recommend this monitor.

Ohhh boy when i say beast, i meant MONSTER! This Dell is incredible, i have switched from Mac 2022, to this and 8k is outrageous, i can never go back, i wont be upgrading for YEARS. Thanks Dell. Ohh it has an extra usb port under its screen, also can tilt 360 or yaw up and down. Easy installation, i mean VERY EASY. Also has Auto synchronization, when you power on your desktop or mobile phone while connected, the monitor will power up too.

Sturdy! Stay put! DONT MOVE! WOBBLE?? NAH!! it stays put, doesnt move at all, also can be wall mounted, i dont want that, never know when an earthquake hits.

It has freesync, dual screen, and other technobable i truely wont be using, but You might need it, haha enjoy !

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Budget Gaming Monitor

I picked up Dell's S3422DWG back in March, and have been putting it through its paces ever since. It's my primary media device for games, movies, and photo editing, and I'm here to share my impressions of the monitor after the better part of a year.

I picked up the S3422DWG for $380 to replace my aging Acer X34, as my latest build used an AMD GPU instead of the previous Nvidia, requiring a FreeSync device. I was immediately struck by how good the blacks looked compared to my old IPS: deep without all the old panel's backlight bleed. This higher contrast really enhances all of the media I throw at this monitor. I'm incredibly sensitive to motion blur, and I really can see the difference in responsiveness between an older 100Hz panel and a newer 1434Hz one. While VAs supposedly have worse viewing angles, I don't ever hit a real-world use case where I've noticed this. The curve is a bit more severe than I'm used to, but after a week my brain adjusted to it.

The OSD is much nicer than my Acer with a few flaws. You get a joystick that can be depressed to open the OSD, with four buttons that can be mapped to menu items. Sadly the response time menu is not an option, so turning on strobing requires a menu dive each time. But overall quite functional and intuitive.

So what about the dreaded black smearing? Early VA panels were panned for gaming due to dark content having a much worse response time than IPS displays, creating black smears during game movement. I'm happy to report that this monitor does not strongly exhibit this behavior on "Super Fast" response time. I do see a bit of dark content smearing with strobing turned on in games, where the ultra-responsiveness exposes anything but the fastest response times. But this is generally minimal, unless you have something like black text on a white sign.

Let's talk to strobing. Compared to previous strobing monitors I've tried, I'm happy to report that the S3422DWG maintains very strong brightness with strobing (which it calls MPRT) turned on. Cross-talk varies depending on where you look on the screen. The center has very good coherency, the bottom is good in this regard, and the top of the screen exhibits noticeable strobe cross-talk. This means that strobing is viable in games where you're not fixing your gaze on the top third of the screen (such as Witcher 3) and not very good in games where you're looking all over the screen at any time (e.g., Diablo 4). Overall it's a nice perk, but not a universally reliable one.

The last caveat for this screen is that reviewers have panned it for flickering with GSync under 60Hz, which could be a deal-breaker for NVidia users.

Overall, this monitor is incredibly strong for its price point ($350 at the time of this review) for users who want to watch media, edit, or play games with an ultra-wide aspect ratio for AMD users. I recommend it as a gorgeous bargain panel.

I use this monitor for Overwatch 2, general internet browsing and other games. No matter what I'm doing, the screen is clear, bright, and is visually pleasing.
My first ultrawide, and one I would recommend to a friend if they wanted the 21:9 experience.
A great value.
