I picked up a cheap 32 inch TV to use as a monitor that didn't come with a remote control so I picked this up.

Setup was super easy. Turn the TV on, find the button with your make on it, hold it for 5 seconds, the LED flashes three times and you're done.

You can also set up the remote using specific codes for each make listed in the instructions but why bother when the above works so quickly.

There are lots of buttons that I won't even use on the remote but power, channel, volume and navigation through the menus all work so I'm happy.

Had an old Insignia TV with a terrible remote that no longer responded to button pushes no matter how hard you pushed, and this one worked without a problem. According to the instructions there are 2 ways to pair the remote and the easier way (where you just hold the button that corresponds to the brand down for 5s) worked great. No need for codes or complexity. And even though the layout of the remote is different than the old one, the buttons function as labelled. Just be aware that the rubber/silicone on the buttons is still a bit thick so you still need to push them all the way down, but at least they respond perfectly and without delay. Love that the power button lights up each time a button is pushed to let you know that the IR signal was sent. Peace of mind for cheap. Good stuff.

I didn't have to do anything. I literally put batteries in it, (not included), and it turned my older Sharp TV on by just hitting the button. It does come with through instructions on various methods for programming the remote, but in my case, it was power it up and off I went.

Great remote that needs 2 AAA batteries. Comes with instructions so connecting to a TV was simple. Plug-in batteries. Do the setup procedure. And the remote just works. Really happy with the product. Worked on Samsung TV; as advertised and no problems.

Likes:
- Remote has a nice smooth finish to it and it has a slim profile
- Remote control has an organized button layout and the buttons are easy to read
- Programming it to work with my Sharp TV was simple and worked on the first try
- I was able to access the Menu function of my TV after it was programmed
- I like that the commonly used buttons are placed in the middle of the remote and is easy to reach with my thumb

Dislikes:
- Remote control requires AAA batteries which is less common than AA type and they were not included
- Keys don't have a backlight like my original Sharp remote did
