I just put this up (Jan-15/2024) and it was very easy to set up with our cell phones. Easy instructions to follow, We first tested it in our home to make sure it can be set up, Wifi compatible, worked great. I also purchase a (SD128gb) SIM card "sold separate", it was cheap and installed that as well. I had to run an extension cord from the corner of my garage attic to the outlet on the inside wall of my garage to reach a power outlet. ONLY needed a 25' extension cord, taped up the plugs together in the attic, so they would not come apart and presto, we have a working security camera. This is an electric powered security camera and needs a power outlet to run it. "NO SOLAR" and it works over your WiFi. You can test this out before putting it up outside your home wall/garage, where ever you wish BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A GOOD WIFI SIGNAL. YOU WILL NEED TWO PEOPLE FOR THIS because, if your too close with your phone to this camera it will start to squeal so you'll need some distance when running your test on panning this camera when finding a place to set this up on your home/garage. It took more time running the extension cord, setting up, place the camera, testing it in our home than actually putting it up on our wall. I pre-drilled 3 holes, using the template included, into my brick and used tap-cons to secure it. I didn't want this to go anywhere. You will have to find out what works best for you.
I have now been able to use this during the night. The camera is great. I use the "Auto Cruz" at night, every hour to monitor/pan my whole front of the home and it will automatically record this path from what ever time you wish to set. You set your own time on "Auto Cruz". YOU NEED A SIM CARD if you wish to record anything. I didn't pay for the cloud service. So, it not only monitors for human movement and tracks them, it will also pan and record on "Auto Cruz" you set for the day/night times you wish. This a great feature and it's Awesome! Remember, when your "Auto Cruz" is set it will ONLY record from the point it starts, original start point to the right, It will NOT pan to the left from the start point.
As for the rest of this camera, it looks good, quality of camera is great, has human tracking, up to date notifications on human movement. As I was in the kitchen, after setting this up I received a notification that there was something moving outside my door. It was an Amazon carrier dropping off an item...Great stuff!. You can also pan this camera by using your phone ANYTIME YOU WISH. So if your at work or out for the day/wkend, you can pan this all around and see if you have any items delivered to your door or if anything has been tampered with on your property. You can also, ZOOM in and out on your phone when looking on either live OR recordings from the SIM card....Awesome!
This device is a bit bigger than I expected but if your standing on the road, you can JUST make it out but up close, it's a bit large. I don't mind, it may deter unwelcomed guests.
I have it set to see down my driveway but it picks up anyone walking there dog and notifies me. I have to deal with this due to one of our vehicles being broken into last month parked on the road so, this is what we have to deal with.....UNSAVORY INDIVIDUALS EVERYWHERE!!!!!. It will NOT pick up human movement from the side of the camera, only if it's within view of the lens. But, if it's panning it will catch the person when doing so. It will not pickup animals....great!
I would purchase again, Great Customer Service when dealing with any issues and I recommend this Security Camera. WE are very happy we purchased this Security Camera. It seems that everyone needs one in todays world.
