CONTENTS & DIMENSIONS
- Kit includes 10 connectors, 3m of cable and 1 magnetic screwdriver.
- Cable width measures 4mm.
- Connector cap measures 10mm x 12mm.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut desired cable length using scissors or hobby knife. Be sure to cut the cable straight and not at an angle.
- Remove screw on the connector cap, detach cap and firmly insert the cable. To make straight cables, simply leave the connector caps off.
- Replace the connector cap and tightly refasten the screw. Test each cable individually before wiring up your pedalboard.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If a cable is not working or there's a loss of tone or volume, tighten the screw as firmly as possible until a connection is made. If that doesn't work, try backing the screw off a little. If there's still no connection, make sure the cable is cut straight and firmly inserted into the connector.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
Small diameter cable, option to make them 90 degree or straight in, magnetic philips screw head NOT Flat head like others...what's not to like? Even the packaging looks tip top and of high quality. These ends are what seem to be micro in size compared to others. My board has definitely gained back some space for at least another standard pedal for the room that was created by using these smaller head Crosby ends.
I bought two 10-pack kits and will be ordering a few more before the great reviews cause the product price to increase, right?
One thing I want to be clear about is the fact that I used a high-quality screwdriver with the appropriate size bit and quality wire cutters from start to finish. The included screwdriver is of very poor quality. It's minuscule so you'll not get much torque and made from cheap material that likely strip the bit itself before too long. Better to give nothing than give something that could destroy the actual product.
Also, I highly recommend building these in a well-lit work area with a mat that will prevent them from falling and getting lost.
Several problems:
First, the screws have very fine threads and were not magnetized. If you're not careful, it would not be hard to cross-thread and destroy a connector. Seemed to be made of a cheap alloy. They were also machined in a way that makes them very likely to jump out before you can get the driver on them. I
Second, as many others have expressed with other brands of solderless kits, it's not easy or even entirely possible to tell if you've made a solid connection. I had to redo one cable four times. It was my first time using a solderless kit and for this reason alone, it's why I am unlikely to try another. The cost of high-end solderless kits is not something I can justify.
Third, because you have to bend the cable, it will crease or break the jacket and shielding. Not ideal - even if a proper connection is made - but if you have to re-do it, you may need to cut that used material off and you've got a less-than-ideal length. This also means that the cable provides some resistance to lining up the screw and again, this makes it easy to cross thread.
Lastly, I found that the 1/4" connectors themselves did not always make proper contact with the pedal jacks. One pedal in particular, a plain ol' MXR, worked properly with ALL of the older cables I have. After four re-builds, the Crosby simply did not make proper contact and this was the last straw.
I'm glad to see that others had a good experience but not the case for me. Buyer beware.
I have used solderless cable before on smaller boards (d'Addario) and enjoyed the ease of quickly putting a board together: cut to length, firmly screw in end, fully screw in ground screw, and done. The downside with those was that the stiffness and thickness of the cable to ensure a reliable and simple connection prevented them from use on a more complex setup. The Crosby cables solve some of those problems (reducing the cable thickness and rigidity allows for tighter bends and smaller gaps) while introducing new ones (less shielding and rigidity increases the chance for the ground screw to bridge the core and ground). Cable assembly was: cut to length, attach both ends, ensure tips had continuity, screw in ground screw about 8/10 of the way, do half turns on each ground screw, and re-test to check for continuity on grounds. With a multimeter, each cable took under 2 minutes and had almost no failed cables after the first couple. Having used them for 2 weeks now, lifting and lowering the top constantly to tweak, I've had no shorts from the shifting of the cables so far.
The problem is that there is no way to buy additional lengths of cable separately. I ordered 7 packs to rewire and have additional ends and cable leftover for inevitable tweaks and replacements, and each pack comes in it's own pre-cut 10' length. This meant cable wastage that is unusable and just environmental waste, as well as not enough cable to finish wiring fully. I would kind of get it if they were just fully packaged from overseas and shipped straight to consumer, but almost every package had noticeably been opened once and resealed, though the cable lengths measured were the correct 10'. This would mean at minimum these were either returns where new 10' lengths were placed prior to shipment, or there is some QC prior to shipment. In either instance, there doesn't appear to be a reason why, since Crosby appears to likely be cutting cable themselves, they could not ship the cable as 1 solid length or list cable separately.
If you've got a simple setup and are looking for an alternative to the cheap waste cables sold in your local music stores bins, and have the patience (and hopefully a multimeter or cable tester) to get the knack for them down, they are definitely a solid cable for the price. However, with the only method being these pre-boxed, 1-size packages, I would advise to look at an option that actually has an eye to your future board development and understands that you don't need to buy cable ends in perpetuity just to get some extra cable.
