Firstly, the design is sleek and modern, perfectly complementing any workspace or entertainment area. Their compact size makes them ideal for smaller desks, yet they deliver sound that rivals much larger speakers.
Setting them up was a breeze – simply plug and play, no fuss or complicated instructions needed. Despite their size, the sound quality is exceptional. The clarity and depth of the audio are truly impressive, whether I'm listening to music, watching movies, or gaming.
One feature that stands out is the built-in passive radiators, which enhance the bass response without sacrificing clarity in the mid and high frequencies. The result is a rich, immersive sound experience that belies the speakers' compact size.
Additionally, I appreciate the thoughtful design details, such as the front-facing volume control knob, which allows for easy adjustments without having to reach around to the back of the speaker.
Overall, I can't recommend the Creative Labs Pebble V2 speakers highly enough. They offer outstanding sound quality, a stylish design, and hassle-free setup, all at an incredibly affordable price point. Whether you're a music lover, gamer, or movie enthusiast, these speakers are a must-have addition to any setup.
Pros:
- Small size, fits on my IKEA DIY L-shaped desk just fine beside my monitor stand.
- Easy to use, comes with type C cable and a C to A adapter so you can plug it into legacy USB ports
- Good range (listening to a Piano Concerto right now and it sounds good). Some bass, not a ton but it's present
- Draws about 100mA at 5W with audio that fills my office (playing some rock music) so any USB port will work in fact lsusb reports the device only requests a max of 300mA
- Good price for the quality
Cons:
- I think you really need USB PD to get the full claimed output but honestly on USB 5V power they're loud and clear enough. I imagine jamming it louder would just amplify any distortion present. So unless you're in a very large open room you don't need to worry about this.
- No grill or cloth cover on the speakers. You can see the cones. Which looks cool but it also going to get all sorts of dirt/lint/etc in it.
- Don't get me wrong they sound very pleasant (good frequency response, no buzzing or other annoying distortions) and I intend to use them until they fall apart, but they're by no means the most full sounding speakers either. I've had better headphones in the same ballpark price range (maybe a bit more expensive). So if you're after monitor quality speakers these ain't it (but they're also way cheaper than monitors).

The Pebbles do a very good job of replacing them. Unlike the KOSS, they don't have any treble, base, or balance controls. Other than the single on/off volume knob on the left speaker, you have to control it from the audio source (PC, Mac, mp3 player, cell phone, whatever).
The left speaker has three output cables: a single 3.5mm audio connector that plugs into the PC, a USB cable (for power), and a third cable that connects to the right speaker.
Setup is trivial. You plug the audio connector into the PC, the USB into a USB port for power, and you're done. I have mine plugged into a USB sound card which is, in turn, plugged into a USB switch that is connected to two PCs (one Windows 7 and one Windows 10). Both PCs recognized it as a USB 2.0 sound device and worked without issue. No drivers needed to be installed. I did have to go into the Control Panel to change the default audio output to be the USB output, but that was it.
The sound quality is very good. This is stereo, not 5.1 or 7.1 or anything like that. They are $30 USB speakers, after all. Stereo output playback from AIMPP is actually quite impressive. There's no distortion, hiss, or any other artifacts. With the KOSS, I was always twiddling with the treble and bass, but these seem to very good bass response. Music playback is very well balanced (I play mostly instrumental and symphonic tracks), and when used for audio calls over WebEx, it sounds like the person is actually in the room.
The only minor complaint is the cable lengths. Because I'm using the USB sound card, it's not a problem, but if I was using my PC sound output directly, the audio jack wouldn't reach the tower PC on the floor from a standard height desk. You can of course get an audio extension cable, but that's a pain.
Worse is the speaker-to-speaker wire. At only 40", I couldn't place these in the same positions as the KOSS speakers, which were about 52" apart. These have to be closer, and they just barely go beyond the borders of my 32" monitor. At least with the USB and audio outputs, there is the option of extension cables, but the wire between the speakers is a fixed length.
Other than the wire length issue, the speakers have good quality sound, run off of USB power, are small (half the size of my old speakers), and were recognized by two versions of Windows without any drivers being necessary.

Only 'con' is there's three wires. One connecting the speakers, one into the audio jack and one into a USB. I don't really mind because my wires are hard to see anyway. I'm old school so I'm used to this and expected it from computer speakers anyway.
Admittedly the bass isn't the best but I don't really care. I'll play it on my sound bar and subwoofer if I'm looking to jam out. These are perfect for easy listening and listening to the sims babble on my games. BUY IT!
