Versatile Adapter and Converter
Travelling to the UK and Europe next week and ordered this item to take care of some of our electrical needs. This will be handy for those items that require conversion from 220V to 110V. Since I haven’t travelled yet, I can’t comment on it’s actual use, but my husband did run a few tests on it to confirm that it is indeed sending out the right amount when it is in conversion mode. The maximum wattage you can use when using converting to 110V is 880W, so you need to be aware of what your item is using to make sure you don’t blow a fuse. There is an extra fuse built into the unit if you do blow the fuse. Blowing a fuse is no fun, but frying an electrical items is even less fun.The item can be used as only an adapter or as an adapter and a converter. There is a toggle switch that allows you to choose which one you want based on your current needs. One concern I have with this is how easily the toggle switch slides back and forth and that you may accidently switch from converter to adapter. It would be beneficial if it had a bit of a safety mechanism worked into it like the adapter options do.As far as the adapter aspect of this item, it is well designed and decently compact allowing you to have one item to cover multiple counties. It covers a huge range of options both for input as well as output. It is simple to use, by easily pushing down and then sliding the side button to choose the adapter that you need and to bring it back in you push the button down again to release the adapter and slide it back into place. You cannot slide out a new option until you the previous option is fully clicked back into place.I really like that this item not only is able to convert, but it also includes a couple USB ports. While not as compact as just a plain adapter, this item is still plenty compact compared to many other converters on the market. A couple USB-C ports would make this item top of the line as it would then cover all your electrical needs while travelling. I appreciate how this item comes with a nice carry case for while travelling, so no dust, grim or spills can get into the cracks and crevices of the unit.
