I was having bad luck with the battery hand held ones (went through two of them) for which I never really got any use out of, maybe it was something I did or just random bad luck. Either way I believe this to be built well enough to last more than the 6 months I got from the battery powered ones. This thing also has a great deal of power to get the job done, it reminds me of a leaf blower and probably could act as one with a long enough extension cord.
Pros: I believe this to be just as powerful, if not more, than the hand held battery powered ones on maximum. For those who may not know, the battery ones usually has the switch that can change the speeds as well as turn off, great if you don't want too much pressure however this one has a toggle switch so no variable speeds.
The cord is about 10 feet long give or take.
Has a light that turns on automatically to see where you are pointing while the machine is in use.
It has a bit of weight to it which may be due to the size of the motor and is about the size of a tea kettle. It has three filters which is nice as well as three heads. The switch is a basic two way on off and not a push button.
Cons: It has one speed due to it being a toggle switch instead of a button which is fine for the uses I need it which will mostly be used outdoors as indoors would kick up a lot of dust unless that's what you're looking for.
There is some concern about the noise as it's about as loud as a medium sized vacuum cleaner but you have to remember how fast the fan spins inside this thing to produce the power it needs to generate such a powerful air speed.
Unfortunately doesn't come with a brush head like the battery powered ones do although this isn't a big deal as it comes with 3 various size small brushes for brush cleaning and even cleaning the machine itself.
It's also got some weight to it which will likely cause early arm and/or hand fatigue for some users if used for prolonged periods though they suggest you do not use it longer than 10 minutes without giving it at least a 3 minute cool down.
All in all I think this is a good buy (paid $56CAD after taxes) and a great buy if it lasts more than a year. I also get a good laugh at the box because it says "Good Quality", not Great Quality, but good which, to be honest, they're not lying.
