Exactly as I suspected. Cord is good, lighted end is beneficial l, and it came in a timely matter. It is flexible but still stiff, which I guess is to be expected. I have yet to find a cord that is totally pliable in very cold weather

I needed a long extension cord that could hold up to the winter and this seems to fit the bill. It wasn't too expensive and the light on the end is a nice touch to know you're getting power. We have since been through a cold snap and this thing didn't crack so I am happy.

I use this outside to supply power for my vehicle's block heater and also to power my electric snow blower. So far it has performed brilliantly. It firms up a little in extreme cold but is still flexible enough that it is easy to use. The power indicator in the female plug is handy. All in all I am very pleased with what I got for the price I paid.

100 ft, you cant go wrong. On cold days, heck it seemed on days where it was not freezing cold still didn't stay very flexible. Granted I have had other cords that snap in the cold, this still does bend and doesn't go totally rigid, but it does get rather stiff. Otherwise its a cord, nothing fancy!

The cable works fine (it passes the juice), it's solid and I'm already a big fan of the tell-tale power indicator light. I use it weather down to -40 (C) though and I'm finding that once you get past -10 (C) it starts to stiffen up just like other cables, so I have to bring it indoors to warm up before rolling it up for storage between uses (on my new electric snowblower). Turns out I didn't need one quite this long and would get a 75 ft cable next time. As the cable is a big hassle on things like snowblowers, the less of it you have, the better. So I'd strongly recommend doing an exact measurement for how long a cable is needed before buying (duh).

Used for the portable space heater, 1500W, during winter camping. No issues.

I only buy 14 gauge cords to make sure I get enough power to operate all my power tools. Bought this cord mainly for the block heater and battery tender on my truck but will also be able to use it during spring to fall period for other projects. The 100 foot length is a bonus. Most of my 14 gauge cords are 50 footers so nice to have the extra length.

You just can not go wrong with the price for this well built extension cord. The lighted plug is something I appreciate to have.

5.0 out of 5 stars It carried the power to my Toro Power Shovel

This Coleman Cable performed very well and calmed my concerns over reviews I had read that mentioned fires. In the last six years we have had no more than four inches of snow if that much on any one occasion. This year as predicted, in one night I had 14" on my deck, walkways and driveway. The Toro Power Shovel purchase web-page recommended this cable. I had considered buying from one of the box stores but the price was right and decided to go with what the positive reviews and bought the Coleman Cable. All arrived a week and a half before their call to duty.

Needless to say my 5" clearing Toro Power Shovel and this cable got a workout. I cleared my two car 90 foot drive way and also accompanied my neighbor, using a hand shovel, clear his steep inclined 110 foot driveway (we hand moved the show for the stretch beyond the safe reach of the cable). I checked often and the cable remained cool to the touch. The blue cable dragged over the snow, remained flexible and easily rolled up on the recommended storage wheel.

Very satisfied with this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars good choice for cold weather

The cord quality is very good. My issue was that I needed a 60' cord to run my pump on my diesel fuel tank. Since no body seemed to sell a 60' cord in 14/3 wire with low temperature rated insulation, I bought a 100' one. Then I got a high quality male and female cord ends. I cut the 100' cord at 60' and 40' +/= a few inches. I then wired the cut ends so I ended up with what I needed and also got a 40' cord too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stays flexible in the cold

I bought this to go with an electric snow thrower, so my concern was that it stay flexible in low temps. Used it on the last big snowfall of the season, and found it worked very well. Adequate capacity to handle the amps of the snow thrower, and flexible enough to follow my along as I cleared the walk and driveway.

That's what I wanted, and that's what I got.

The lighted socket is an added bonus, just to know that I hadn't yanked it out while "shoveling." I suppose in situations where you leave the cord around, and it leads outside of the sightline to the wall socket, this would be pretty useful, just so you know it's plugged in before you get all set and realize there's no juice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long and heavy, but useful.
Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2009

This cable is extremely useful if you plan on doing work with electrical tools during cold, wet, winter months. It is heavily insulated and has illuminated cord ends (which comes in handy on the dark winter nights).
I purchased this product for use with an electric snow thrower. It is extremely long and heavy duty, which I like. My only concern about the cord is that it's also very heavy. A 100ft cord like this, when it's all wound up, weighs a good amount. While the weight doesn't impact its intended purpose, I felt it was necessary to mention.
Overall, if you're looking for a heavy duty, long, winter extension cord, I recommend this one.
