Now It's Personal

The CT-S1 reflects your style in more ways than one. Choose the color that best matches your home, your look, or your life in general. Then, express yourself with 61 studio-quality, stage-ready Tones. And with a keyboard that looks and sounds this good, there's no need to keep it on a stand. Put in 6 AA batteries, attach a strap, and wherever you're standing becomes center stage.

Basically Everything

Like many of our Privia and Celviano digital pianos, the CT-S1's streamlined design features simplified controls that allow you to focus on selecting a Tone and practicing or performing without distraction. A convenient metronome button helps you keep time, and an easy one-button recorder lets you capture ideas.

The Heart of a Champion

The CT-S1's AiX Sound Source delivers sound quality that you'd expect from a keyboard costing hundreds, if not thousands more. Power on theCT-S1, and you'll be presented with a dynamic, expressive German concert grand piano placed in a virtual concert hall. You'll also find essentials like electric pianos, organs, strings, synths, and more, with Advanced Tones adding complex layers that react to your playing. A collection of vintage keyboard sounds is also included, featuring recreations of timeless, sought-after keyboard instruments. We've even included classic Casio sounds from our VL, VZ and CZ series.

Small Size, Huge Sound

There are three ways to experience the CT-S1's amazing sound quality at its best. First, the bass-ported stereo speaker system delivers eyebrow-raising punch and clarity throughout the entire volume range. Second, plug in a good set of headphones for personal play. Third, press the SURROUND button, and the sound from the speakers will place you right in the middle of your music.

A world of possibility lies behind these keys. You can choose virtual concert venues, layer tones together, add delay and EQ, adjust temperaments, and much more, right from the front panel. Connected to Your World

The microUSB port connects your CT-S1 to any PC, Mac, iOS or Android device with no drivers or installation needed. Use the free Chordana Play app to learn to play your favorite songs with downloadable MIDI files.

I was happy with everything about this keyboard, from the prompt delivery the day after I ordered it [I really needed it for a project] to the natural piano sound and the touch of the keys. I am not primarily a keyboard player but find it very helpful to have one on hand when I am working on musical notation, finding the right key for a song, or trying to work out chord charts for my fiddle tunes. For a basic keyboard, can't be the price or the quality.

I'm not an expert on keyboards, but I think this one delivers amazing value for the money. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but the sound quality (at least the standard piano) is impressive, so it's almost a no-brainer if you're looking for a minimalistic keyboard.

Now the fun feature that I think got a lot of people go "shut up and take my money": its "Keyboard" mode + "Vintage" tone variation nails the classic Mellotron sound. I'm pretty sure one of the first things people play when they open this up is the intro to The Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" or The Zombies' "Changes"

UPDATE: be warned that the battery life is not great. It used up a brand new set of Energize Max after less than 2 hours of playing.

I wanted a basic piano to learn on. Didn't want any bells and whistles. This keyboard has nice sound quality ...particularly the piano and organ. Nice touch resistance. No annoying LED screens. Just a clean, basic keyboard with great build quality.

Was looking for an affordable portable keyboard to start learning piano. This is exactly what I wanted. Well built solid frame and awesome built in speakers. The option for headphones is a plus so I don't drive my dog nuts as I learn. Being able to connect this as a midi controller for piano apps make learning, for me, a breeze. I truly couldn't be happier with my purchase.

This instrument sounds good. Not great for my intended use as the volume is not as loud as how I use it, which is as an instrument for Bible Study. It looks cool in red color. The controls are very basic and you need to read the manual just so you will know how to enable the limited features. My only gripe is that it is very choosy with sustain pedals; not all of them work and you need one either Casio brand or one with a switchable polarity/polarity switch. I had to return mine because I was not really happy with how it sounds in a big room, but for someone who only plays privately and in a small room, can't go wrong with purchasing this one. The keybed feels like a toy and the action is not so great. It could be priced lower in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Portable, Playable, Capable Instrument

I own a top flight acoustic piano and professional digital keyboards. I searched everywhere for a portable, super light-weight keyboard that I could carry on when flying/traveling to use for practicing and composition. The Casio CT-S1 fits the bill well, with a few very minor nits.

This keyboard weighs in at less than 10 lbs. yet is very well built and 'feels' sturdy and solid. It's physically impossible to have weighted or semi-weighted keys on a 10 pound instrument, but the key bed is otherwise very good. The keys are nearly full-size, have a matte finish and a good touch sensitive response.

The body of the keyboard is well constructed and does not feel fragile. The 'retro', minimalist look of the instrument with the cloth covered panel across the top is easy on the eyes. There is a built-in handle which allows carrying around your house or hotel with ease. It comes with a external power supply, but also runs on batteries. I sprung for a set of AA rechargeable batteries, worth the investment. Nit #1: You'll need to purchase a sustain pedal - not included.

There is a very good and wide range of sounds, most important of which are decent acoustic piano, electric piano and organ voices. A nice feature is a set of physical buttons and a volume knob across the front panel. There are dozens of additional sound and tone controls accessible via the function button and the piano keys. Nit #2: I would like to have dedicated buttons for the most used functions: transpose, octave shift and reverb.

The built-in speakers are very serviceable. There are 1/8" inch stereo IN and stereo OUT connectors, so I carry a couple of 1/8" stereo patch cables for connecting my Klipsch Groove bluetooth speaker (sounds great), tablets, phone, etc. The USB MIDI interface is ideal for for writing or transcribing music.

Nit #3: The Casio case for this instrument, when available, has an awkward design (load from the end ??), and has questionable padding for travel. Casio would do well to make available a decent, well fitting, padded case - even at half the cost of the keyboard, it would be worth it. I scoured the retail world for days to found a good quality, padded, but otherwise snug fitting case for airline carry on, but a case designed for this unit would be better.

This instrument is an excellent value.
