Very Disappointed
I love this camera, my second one. The lens stuck open on the last one so hope it doesn’t happen again. And it did happen again. Unfortunately I bought it on April 1 and the warranty expires after 1 year. I called the company and they said they could offer me a 20% discount on my next purchase of a Cannon Camera. The lens stuck open on the 5th of June and I was going away on the 6th so I had to purchase a camera, and got lucky and got the exact same camera. But they wouldn’t be able to send me a cheque for the 20% off, which BTW works out to $100. What they offered me is a free Battery (so now I will have 3 batteries because the camera died, not the battery). Needless to say I am extremely unhappy with Cannon’s policy and this will be my last Cannon camera because of this. Buyer beware!!

I wanted a simple compact camera with a decent zoom for concerts, travel and nighttime events where I don't want to bring a dslr or can't. The zoom on this thing is impressive, though you have to be really still or use a tripod in order to get it to autofocus quickly on moving subjects, especially in a nighttime setting. The 4K video quality is great, though the auto stabilization could be better. For less than $500 though, im not complaining. Definitely way better than any photos you'd take on a smartphone.
